This week someone targeted my family for harm with a false report. We’re physically OK, but that doesn’t mean we weren’t harmed. I am beyond furious.
Whatever your politics, this is awful, wrong, and can never become normal. https://t.co/72wxaVLzVT
LaMelo's positional size and arm slot variety as a distributor have made him such a special passer. Charlotte found so much functionality using Kon as a screener for Ball.
He sees the floor so well, carried a 40+% ast% this season and a far better than 2:1 ast:tov ratio. I hope Minnesota leans into slips (can we PLEASE see Ant screen every once in awhile), ghosts (shoutout Isaiah Evans), and traditional PnR with Rudy. (Empty side and corner lifts are gonna be butter)
This is such a special playmaker for Minnesota.
I’m not here to condone it, but if LeBron were to take the minimum anywhere in pursuit of a ring, the Wolves would be like automatic and his fit there would be like a glove.
Sheldon is an elite BB mind. Certainly much moreso than the national talking heads. This guy understands hoops.
I could not care less about trade grades from ESPN “analysts.” Follow Sheldon.
Whether the Wolves win a title or not, you cannot deny how fun they’re going to be to watch with a LeMelo and Ant backcourt.
Add in some shooting, Jaden as a 3rd option, and lobs for Rudy Gobert and Joan Beringer, and this is going to be highlight reel hoops in Minneapolis.
The Wolves do still have other moves in the works. They need a power forward and they need more shooting. I am told that they are not trading Donte DiVincenzo. The work continues.
Guys the fit is insane
Please stop questioning the fit - the fit is insane
A lead ball handler who can set everyone else up but also isn’t an A1 scoring option but CAN score?
The fit is insane
There are other concerns here but the fit is not a concern - he’s literally the best possible 2nd option
Clear by now that Tim is treating this as Ant’s franchise on the level of how Cleveland treated LeBron. Future 1sts are not of Ant’s concern. Someday we’ll feel pain from that, and we hope it’s as far out as possible after as much success as possible.
Fair to be sad that Naz is gone, when you watch guys grow up with your team it feels like you know them, but to get a guy as good as they just got the price was probably going to hurt
It hurts to lose Naz. Minnesota will need to replace his spacing in the corner. He’s largely embodied the Timberwolves in this era as well.
That said, power forward is the most robust position in free agency. It’s perhaps the only position with multiple starting caliber players available, and available for the mid level exception range.
- John Collins
- Kristaps Porzingis
- Tobias Harris
- Rui Hachimura
- Jonathan Kuminga
Minnesota can make this move has plenty of space to fill the roster out.
Alrighty, well if there is one takeaway from Tim’s presser: the Wolves had some options and Ant wasn’t a fan of the cost it would take to do those things. Ergo: says a lot about him and maybe why we are here. Good leader. Counts for a lot re: the events of last 2 days.
"Anthony Edwards is happy. He has the belief in Jaden McDaniels and Naz Reid and Ayo. This is how he wanted to rock. They have a certain type of brotherhood over there. He believes that those guys are going to get better."
"The Ant-Man is cool and happy with rolling with guys he has in the locker room" - Kendrick Perkins (reporter) after doing research and making some calls. #Timberwolves
Tim Connelly needs to absolutely nail the next move he makes because it’s clear he’s losing trust with the fanbase with how the KAT trade, Dillingham draft pick, and Julius Randle extension turned out
Yes, Ant was frustrated by how last season ended. But he has also already won a lot here and believes in his teammates and the org to keep upgrading.
He's under contract for 3 more years. Orgs are always on the clock with star players, but Wolves have time here.
This drumbeat just isn't going to stop, so deal with it. You can worry about it or dismiss it and chill. It went on for years with Lillard. It went on for years with Giannis. It went on for years with others and it's here for Ant. It won't stop, decide now how you deal with it.
For the aggregators and people worried about Ant leaving… this is the guy that literally wrote the book on Ant… I would value this over opinion over everyone else’s.
Also Chris is literally hurting his own book sales by saying Ant is happy. Think of how many books he could sell if he said “Ant wants to team up with LeBron and Luka in LA”
