@DirtyTheOG@scottcoleman55 So whether the contacts are a good financial decision doesn’t change the fact outspending other teams by hundreds of millions is the real issue.
@DirtyTheOG@scottcoleman55 lol if the banks fail we’ll have bigger issues then players not getting the 70 mil owed to them. Again not a fan of them but I really don’t think deferred contracts are the issue. It’s the egregious outspending and lack of revenue sharing
@DirtyTheOG@scottcoleman55 Tough to say it’s going to put them in financial distress when the money is already stashed away. Could deter them from going over the cap in the future though 🤷♂️
@mikegentile590@KOLODale@DaniWex@DanielAlvarezEE Because baseball is baseball. In a 7 game series a lot can happen but clearly in the aggregate money buys you wins. There’s a reason the dodgers win the division every year
@JoeChen@GiantHotTakes The giants can absolutely spend more but I would point out that the dodgers tv contract more than double the giants contract. They’re able to put more money on the field because they just make more
@DirtyTheOG@scottcoleman55 Very unhappy with the situation and the dodgers but deferred payments aren’t really the issue. Also teams are required to put away the entirety of the value of the contract into a high yield account at signing
Talking about sports with conservatives is so funny. “Man the nfl and nba do it right with their revenue sharing system. It makes all teams competitive and it’s better to watch. MLB should switch to that.” But universal healthcare is a step too far huh?
