@tomsherwood I wonder what permitting for something like this would cost the average DC event? How much is DC looking to recoup from the federal government for these kinds of closures?
The House must pass the DC Budget fix today. @POTUS Trump and @SpeakerJohnson must act to avoid $1B in cuts to DC’s clean, safe and beautiful services.
These are our local dollars — not a penny in federal savings. Cuts that would impact DC police overtime, firefighters, and programs for our kids. Cuts that would also impact national special security events. The House should not recess until this bill is passed.

The national FOP is urging the House to pass the Senate bill to fix the $1.1 billion cut to D.C.’s budget, which would lead to service cuts and layoffs in the city.
Good morning @DCDPW@wmata@Metrobusinfo . Students, patients, & pedestrians are walking through refuse this morning after a waste management truck spilled garbage (💩 bags) across the side walk at bus stop 1002379 (12th & Varnum NE). Help please?
Dear @DCDPW@DDOTDC@ZacharyforWard5
Any chance you can remind plow drivers to put plows down if they are driving on unplowed streets? Even if they’re in route to assigned turf, it’s confusing & frustrating for residents to see them pass over their unplowed streets with plows up
Coming soon to 1344 H Street NE: Taqueria Los Pérez 4. 🌮, birrrea, fajitas and more. Los Perez has additional restaurants in Riverdale Park, Baltimore, and Laurel.
700,000 people live in DC, pay taxes, go to war, and die for our country. We are every bit American as everyone else is.
And yet, we do not have full access to American democracy.
We need to continue to fight for DC Statehood.

About 95% of illegal guns recovered in DC are purchased elsewhere and then trafficked into our city.
And in recent years, the number of illegal guns on our streets has surged — fueling rising crime.
Stopping the flow of illegal guns into our city is critical to making DC safer.
Predictably, these guns were then trafficked into our communities.
At least nine of the guns were recovered at crime scenes in DC and nearby Maryland suburbs or seized from fugitives with active warrants for violent offenses.
Many of the other guns are still unaccounted for.
