Finally saw Avatar: Fire and Ash yesterday! I thought it was solid. There were a few weaknesses with the plot as usual with this franchise, but the film was genuinely beautiful visually and my favorite part was honestly just being immersed in Pandora once again.

Recently, I've been playing Quantum Break in order to better inform my eventual experience with Alan Wake 2. Yet again, Remedy Entertainment has blown me away! The time mechanics are satisfying (especially in combat) and the main characters are so captivating.

[MQ 🎥] Nausicaä's confidence and abilities were strong immediately. The lack of a hero's journey in that sense allowed all the focus to go onto her understanding of the "toxic jungle" and resulted in a more profound story about our relationship with nature.

[MQ 🎥] In Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind, the titular character absolutely stole the show for me. It was so refreshing to see a protagonist be that capable right from the beginning and directly influence so many aspects of the plot through her clever agency.

I went back and deleted old “Movie Quest” thoughts and updates because I didn’t like the format I was using. There was just something jarring about the long identification at the beginning. I’ll try to find something that works better because I love documenting this stuff.

Quoting my own post to say that "Spanish Sahara" by Foals has constantly been playing in my car since I finished the game and that probably won't change anytime soon. Beautifully apt and impactful song choice for that moment in the story and I'll never forget it.

I finally took the time to finish playing through Life is Strange this past week. Even though everyone had raved about the story, I was pleasantly surprised even with my high expectations. The complex characters, insane twists, and music came together to make something special.
