Rememberance Displays Pt III

As many of you are aware the Remembrance fixture has became a major part of the SAFC calendar as year after year we remember those who gave their lives to bring us the freedom we enjoy today.

This year marks @ThisIsWearside ‘s first Remembrance display and for this We’ve designed and executed a full stadium display in which all sides of the stadium are given their chance to stand together and remember those who laid down their lives for King and country..

Our teaser tonight features the West side of the stadium. Both lower bowl and premier concourse. Coming together to create a field of red poppies standing proud against the white.

The Great wars were all fought across the western front (Western Europe) … during this beautiful countryside was bombed, blasted and repeatedly fought over…

Previously beautiful scenic landscapes turned to barren, bare muddy fields where nothing would grow…

There was a notable and striking exception to the bleakness - the bright red Flanders poppies. These resilient flowers flourished in the middle of so much chaos and destruction, growing in their thousands upon thousands.

Dulce et decorum est pro patria mori….
