Personally? I'm excited for this book. I'm excited to explore more of Astarion's past, get to know the other spawn more, and get a grimmer look on Cazador's cruelty. I'm ready to be devastated knowing the ending but still wishing for hope. I'm just excited dude

We know the book is going to end in tragedy. It'll be Cazador's cruelty at the hand of this. We'll see hope dangled in front of Astarion and see him start to reach for it just to have it shredded before him and solidify everything Cazador has meant to "teach" him.

It's not going to be a romance. Not in the way some of y'all are talking at least. Will a meaningful connection be made between the paladin and Astarion? Yeah probably and they'll both struggle with that attraction and before either can make sense of it. It'll be over.

there are a lot of assumptions being made about this book we have only gotten a short description of. i get if you're not excited for Astarion to have a novel but idk maybe lets wait to actually read it before writing it off?
