EXCLUSIVE: Richmond footy players were filmed engaging in wild behaviour during Mad Monday celebrations in Garfield, a small country town south-east of Melbourne. The footage shows shirtless players whipping each other while drinking alcohol, with one player pulling down his pants. @NickMcCallum7
Still to this day, the greatest ever sour lollies made Allen’s Sourz Frogs Alive. Absolutely criminal that they were discontinued. Bring them back cowards @nestle@allens
Fabulous to hear @NickoNoonan pot Lady Moscato heavily out of the yard. Basically said it couldn’t win and she tailed out last as favourite.
Whether connections like it or not, this is bloody valuable information from the yard.
Extremely bittersweet to see these colours in general, and especially when they are the winning silks. Congratulations to Gavin Bedggood and his team for getting Deny Entry (Fiorente x Shut out) over the line and winning Race 4 today at @SthsideRacing . Dad has a few longtime friends in this horse, so I know they’ll be over the moon. ❤️🤍🖤I remember when this horse arrived to Dad. He had high hopes for him, and wanted to aim him at a Victoria Derby at some point in his career. Amazing post-race interviews as always by Olivia Kold who speaks so beautifully, and has so much class. Congratulations again
This Saturday on Sportsbet Caulfield Winter Race Day will be 12 years since the beautiful Lord Of The Sky dominated the G3 Sir John Monash Stakes with a perfect ride from Dwayne Dunn winning the race by 4 1/2 lengths. Within this race I was reminded of a breeding story I only appreciate even more now, and find interesting (also understanding it’s biased). Dad also had another runner in the race who came 4th, 'Mr Make Believe' whose dam Simply Believe he trained years earlier, in around 1996-ish? I was looking at the field just today of the G3 Sir John Monash stakes from 2014, watching the race replay, looking at the horses within the field, and I remembered the name 'Simply Believe', because she was also the great-granddam of So Si Bon another horse we had in our stable for a period, who he bought from the Inglis 2015 Australian Easter Yearling Sale.
If you knew Dad, you knew his encyclopaedic knowledge and passion for breeding and that he could trace pedigrees from memory and loved the chance to train horses from the same family.
Looking back now, I'm finding myself reconnecting all the dots in the stories he used to tell. There were so many that it's only now as I'm getting older and have been doing a lot of reflecting, that I'm beginning to remember and truly appreciate just how fascinating those family connections are with the horses that have come through his stable and a constant reminder of just how much he loved this sport, that was his whole entire life.
Anyways, a great race and Raceday that I have fantastic memories of ❤️🤍🖤🏇🏼
I was hauled before stewards today at sandown and told my son who lives and breathes racing isn’t allowed into jockeys room to help get my gear ready and help clean my gear just like a valet, just like I did as a kid for my father.#gamesgone#mightchangesports
