Somehow just found out that Wouter Burger, a decent young player I looked at in Basel, got a move to stoke so big congrats to him. If anyone is interested here’s a little report I tried to make on him
@PatricRidge@TacticallyMatt I still only see potential, and at this point he really needs to turn that into something. His dribbling is still very speed dependent and if any fullback can keep pace with him, he’s ineffective.
@KieranJ_1979@PatricRidge Idk if effective is best because he would mainly just crash the back post. If we are talking about threat and dribbling ability, he was better cutting in or starting central on the left
@TheBlueFrontier The treatment of dibling and aznou will set back our ability to buy young talent for the next three seasons. Moyes has set the squad back with his inflexibility. Complete turnaround with subs. Crazy what rested players can do. His squad management requires a manager change now.
@RyanSoccerAA Maybe aznou will actually be used next season? But I think it makes more sense to extend by an option, maybe two years, and recoup his value to upgrade. He’ll have suitors and we need sellable assets. But unless money is really getting spent next window on needed areas, weird
@TheBlueFrontier I’m not for it but 1. Moyes is consistent and that stability can be useful as the club remodels 2. Moyes is a fan favorite even if he’s unpopular and a new ownership can benefit 3. It seems he has a good relationship with the board 4. He has developed some players (garner esp.)
@TheBlueFrontier I’m all for stability but when stability hinders growth, something has to give. Moyes brought stability, but we are making the same mistakes as we used to and he has failed to change them. The subs are routine and don’t change the game. Only pros go to rohl and garner.
@kingkhan225@RyanSoccerAA Truly is. Dibling more than aznou for me because dibling is a much easier argument that he was ready to play in the prem. At least 20 min off the bench. Aznou prob needed more development but should still have gotten time. Hopefully they twist moyes arm a bit and force his hand.
@RyanSoccerAA@Milia18903 Who were they supposed to progress the ball too though? Ndiaye and Rohl were ineffective, KDH was poor, and after Beto we lost a ton of goal threat
@RyanSoccerAA@Milia18903 I still don’t blame the midfield as much. The entire team decided to sit deep despite so much time left in the match. We had no ability to progress the ball besides garner and Tim, since KDH was off and no width. And we sat so deep the midfield was just lost
@RyanSoccerAA@Milia18903 I didn’t think the midfield was the biggest problem, besides when the backline dropped to the goal line and players were unmarked. I think the bigger issue was a complete lack of width
