Thank you for all the support and feelings shared around ‘Lonely God’ thus far. We’re so grateful that you're loving it as much as we do, truly. We will be giving more insight into the record, songs, etc. as time goes on. It feels right to start here.
Swipe to see the progress art for the ‘Lonely God’ album cover and read below for a statement from the artist, @jacksoneudy!
“The intention behind the album artwork was to explore the corrupting nature of power. At the center sits a figure on a throne—an archetype meant to represent many powerful figures throughout history: politicians, dictators, kings—anyone who plays god to dominate and control others.
To determine the art style, Ryan and I drew on our shared love of horror films. We aimed to merge the intensity of metal album art with the dramatic flair of horror movie posters. We began with the softness of graphite, but shifted to the harsher contrast of pen and ink, a medium we felt better matched the gravity and darkness of the subject matter.
After attempting to create a character to personify the abuse of power, we ultimately decided to completely obscured the figure’s identity so that viewers could project their own interpretations. By keeping the details vague, the artwork becomes a symbol rather than a portrait—open to reflection, discomfort, and critique. It invites the audience to consider who, in their eyes, has abused power.
I approached the work as a way to channel my own anger toward certain individuals in power into something more universal. Rather than pointing to any one figure, it speaks to a broader truth: that authority, left unchecked, often warps into something monstrous.”
