Shoutout to Mariyon Sloan. Not too many kids who are committed to a D1 college for football would have trusted us and been a team player like Mariyon was. Started the season just under 11.80 and got down to an 11.22 at SSL championships and ran a yesterday. All at 205lbs 😂

Would like to shoutout these athletes. Nathan Cortez came in ranked as the last alternate and ended up making it to the finals in long jump! Desteny Flores came in ranked 13th and tied for 5th! Kevin Camacho took 8th in a stacked 1600m race! Great kids with great work ethics.

Yesterday, Shafter Track competed at the Division 2-Valley Championships. Our girls team took 4th overall out of 25+ teams. Not the exact result we wanted but not too bad for year 1. Shoutout to Hayden Ames and Joslyn Pierucci who are headed to Masters!!

Shafter Varsity Girls take home the SSL Championship, and boys take home 2nd. Girls dominated throughout and our guys went from placing 6th last year to fighting for a championship a year later. Beyond proud of the progress we made in year 1. Onto Valley!
