@skooks Yeah, not sure it’s him so much as the legislative staff but it’s still weird (and raises questions about the reliability of the underlying data of the maps, imo)
And actually, to be clear - this discrepancy appears to exist across ~every~ redistricting bill introduced this session, not just SB121 (but also, please note how the legislative staff stopped including race-identification data for SB121 as amended)
Been asking around about this and can't figure out what's going on, but there are some pretty substantial discrepancies between what SB121 - the bill to redraw congressional maps in Louisiana - says about the state's registered voters in Dec. 2025 and what SOS reports

My fellow Louisianans - the state legislature is preparing to cut teacher pay because we said “no” to Amendment 3 on May 16th. A few thoughts below. Take action here: https://t.co/dg38gSgI0H
The Louisiana Legislature is forcing teachers to take a $2,000 pay cut. Contact your legislators and tell them to pay our teachers! https://t.co/mmnzlle7yk #lalege#lagov
As I leave this great island, I am incredibly grateful for the warm welcome and eye-opening conversations. I regret that I only had time to visit the people of Nuuk, and look forward to experiencing everything else that Greenland has to offer on future trips.
Farewell to the people of Greenland – I enjoyed the many introductions and conversations. Thank you for the warm welcome and I will continue to work to deepen ties between our people.
You can absolutely do partisan nominating primaries that are fair and don’t limit the ability of voters to participate - many states have them. I’d still support such a system, but Louisiana has done very much the opposite, purposefully.
Bring back the jungle primaries
Whether it be by redistricting or restricting participation in elections via party affiliation, Louisiana Republicans seem intent on using election law to limit who can vote in, and be represented through, elections as much as possible
S&GA votes 4-3 for House-backed bill to let the Republican and Democratic parties decide whether no-party voters can participate in their closed party primaries. Chairman Caleb Kleinpeter cast the tie-breaking vote to advance HB906 to the full Senate for debate. #lalege
It's *a fraction of what Meta would owe if it had to pay sales taxes like any other business in Louisiana, but they got a special deal from the state that means they pay much less, so we're missing out on a ton of revenue from one of the richest corporations in the world
On Wednesday morning, Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry walks through Nuuk, Greenland, while a woman carrying a blue bag follows the governor and shouts: “Don’t come here — go home!”
Greenland has approximately the same population as Acadia Parish, and if they can make him flee from public events in embarrassment within 30 minutes of arriving, certainly we here in Louisiana can too
