@cockneyboywhu@WestHam_Central Watch the full thing rather than a clip that cuts off the part where he says he doesn’t feel that way now and his kids support us
@IrishIron32 Clip cuts off about 10 seconds before he counters everything he says before by saying he doesn’t feel that way now and his kids support us
@JackH_1906@thebmstand May not want to spend the end years of their peak under a guy that took Burnley down. That’s not even a dig at him I just think he’s a noticeable step down
@JackH_1906@thebmstand I think it depends how the squad feel about him now- the recent articles are all describing pre Jan. I do think he has a better chance of keeping Bowen/Soucek around as there’s simply more chance that if we go up he can stabilise us. I worry with Parker players like that
@SeanDOlfc Clubs like Brentford/Brighton improved in 22/23 and Villa and Newcastle came onto the scene. His approach is good but it can often rely on beating teams around you through margins which is hard when competing with massive scouting+analysis departments as a one man operation
@SeanDOlfc The flip side of that is that he saves clubs like us and Everton from ourselves- look at the recruitment we blew £200m on in 24/25 after he left. That said as much as I love him and wish he’d stayed with us I do think it’s interesting that his league form dropped off as
@Zonal_Marking So it’s this weird thing where really he has done well but his mistakes have been super overt to the point it cost points. I’d keep him but I get why some fans aren’t keen too
@Zonal_Marking BUT he made some really overt mistakes. Started scarles as an inverted right back with soucek and Irving in midfield vs Brentford , we were dire then he did the same against Leeds. Newcastle as well he reverted to the lineup that was awful pre January for some reason
@ts0179 It’s what happened to Leicester- they came up weak and so went from going down and being easily the best squad in the championship to being not even a top 6 champ side on quality when they were back there
@ts0179 If it happens I’m sure I’ll end up getting behind him but just feels completely the wrong move. Basically condemns the club to yo-yoing which is the last thing we need. We can take going down once and coming back , it’s going down again where it really hits the fan
@verstappenwhu And now has had to slog out a relegation battle, during the first half of which he was basically the only competent attacker, in another World Cup year
@verstappenwhu Been unbelievably unlucky with world cups. Would have gone if 2022 was in the summer. Plus for all he mentioned the WC pressure effecting his form he was unlucky to get caught up in our poor form when we tried to change styles the first half of 22/23
@JackH_1906 Felt like the last chance of a pay off for that squad after missing out in Frankfurt as well since we knew rice was going, Antonio and cresswell were already in their 30s etc. happened in an incredible way too with fornals getting a moment in the semis and bowen in the final
@ConnorWHU_@ChrisConnor93 Think confidence/pressure affects him heavily, similar happened when his form dipped pre World Cup 22/23. This season the weight of the team has been on him and hes got a lot of stick despite being in our top two players this year.
@TJayyyy_1 Tbf though it’s more the deserve thing kinda bitter he did fuck all for 18 months, but at least thought he would do well for us in the champ. Now he’s played his way into a move but not kept us up in the process 😭😭
@TJayyyy_1 He’s always lively but outside of 7 games from Jan-March his output is genuinely grim. I do think he’d do well if he went somewhere else but it’s hard to tell if he’s lively because he’s literally our only ball carrier
