🧵 How to search.
It’s Saturday morning. Sitting in my living room, thinking.
How many of you know how to do a Boolean search? It works on any search engine, Facebook, X, Google, FireFox, Duck Duck Go…

I'm writing today about kennings in Old English. Essentially these are two word-metaphors that were used instead of concrete nouns, and they are exquisite. A ship was a 'wave-horse', the sea was a 'whale-road', the mind was a 'thought-chamber', and the sun was a 'sky-candle'.
As best I can tell, it seems that Xitter user @stridinstrider was one of the first to post the image on the right w the caption "Feels like a painting."

While incredibly sad & disappointing, this case is not a failing of palliative care. It is a failure of a multidisciplinary team & health service.
Here’s my take on how this could be better managed, using my expertise as a cancer clinician AND a palliative care clinician.
First it was the strange hue of the trees now it’s a real life nightmare.
This is very hard to take, it must be shared because none of us can escape this.
A catastrophe like we’ve never known is unfolding & exploding at an incredible rate. 🧵
