@hollygroganart I use a manfrotto 290 extra carbon with a manfrotto 500 head which I’m really happy with - I moved from a 190 aluminium to the 290 and there’s definitely a noticeable weight reduction I think
I observed The Grafton Hunt today.
My takeaways:
1. The Hunting Act is not fit for purpose - it's full of loopholes.
2. It appears hunters are flouting the law to hunt foxes under the guise of trail hunting.
3. We urgently need a New Hunting Ban to protect wildlife.
Something to celebrate - our 2025 Lesser Spotted Woodpecker report - successful breeding season, the most nests monitored & highest number of chicks fledged per nest since we started in 2015. Acoustic monitoring giving amazing results too, thanks everyone https://t.co/WxzOmIbehy
Ancient woodlands aren’t a blocker. Wildlife isn’t a hindrance. Chalk streams aren’t anti-growth.
Our wildlife is on the brink - one in six species faces extinction.
These species help define who we are as a nation - we won’t get a second chance to save them.
Absurd claim that White-tailed Eagles snatched five Shetland ponies leads to inevitable call to 'shoot eagles'.
More sensationalist nonsense, demonising the UK's rarest eagle.

The extinction of the Slender-Billed Curlew should be a wake-up call.
The world is upside down: billionaires jaunt to the moon while wildlife vanishes.
Endless wealth for greed, scant care for what enriches all our lives.
Nature belongs to all of us—we must defend it.
Around 10-15 Jay on kirkleatham showfield this afternoon feeding on acorns from the recently planted oaks, most I’ve seen in one place. Also I swear this is a Slav grebe, slipway opposite park hotel 😂 @teesbirds1
