Birmingham City’s director of football Craig Gardner is stepping down from his position. Gardner to leave Blues after 5 years in various roles. Recruitment process to replace him is already underway #bcfc#kro
I I made a big point in the video I did on our relegation post-mortem that our recruitment, preparation and general squad-building at the start of last season played a crucial role in our eventual relegation from the Championship
…and I stand by that.
But I also believe in stability. I’m not a fan of losing senior members of staff a week before the transfer window opens, especially when we’ve already had some movement at boardroom level.
Poor decisions were made and we paid the price for them. But if anything, the focus now has to be on learning from those mistakes and making sure they aren’t repeated.
If go and cock it up again, then we start having these conversations again.

U’S UPDATE: We understand that despite speculation to the contrary, Oxford Utd’s Head of Football Operations Ed Waldron is NOT about to leave the club. Waldron has key responsibilities including player recruitment and he is leading United’s work in summer transfer window. #oufc
Let’s put forward 5 Players Birmingham Must Sign This Summer ✍️
From a much needed goalkeeper, to the number 10 that Chris Davies just didn’t have last season - we find all the solutions… 💰

I get quite a few people asking what software I use to analyse clips and show line-ups…
…and it’s the @JLA_Productions@jamesallcott tactics board!
I use its tools in so many of my videos, and people regularly comment on how much they enjoy the visualisations.
It’s also incredibly useful for someone like me who covers the Championship, because there simply aren’t many tools available that provide this level of detail for a league outside Europe’s top five divisions.
This isn’t sponsored - I just wanted to share it because it has genuinely transformed the way I’m able to visualise and present my content.
Let’s understand how Bristol City Setup Under Michael Skubala…
We take a look at the tactics that worked so well at Lincoln, the types of players he had success with and how this current squad fits his methods 🔍

@FevsFootball Hey mate, I’ve put together this video that breaks down how Skubala fits this current Bristol City squad , the types of players he’s had success with before and which areas need to be addressed in the summer. It would be great and much appreciated if you could share it and give it a watch. Thanks mate!
I’m not even arguing whether it was a foul or not - I just don’t understand why VAR suddenly gets introduced after 46 league games and two semi-finals played without it…
Over an entire EFL season, there are loads of refereeing decisions that change games and points anyway, so bringing VAR in only for the final makes the whole thing feel inconsistent. The final table and the play-off positions might’ve looked different if VAR had been used all season…
(I’m not a Stockport fan and don’t really care who wins this game)
Just an absolutely bonkers story - and one I felt I had to cover properly. I spent a lot of time thinking about how to do it justice, and ultimately decided the best way was to let the fans of the two clubs involved tell it themselves.
The turnaround on this one has been pretty crazy. I only got in touch with the guys involved a little over 24 hours ago, and they were absolutely incredible - so honest, thoughtful, and articulate as they walked through every layer of this fascinating scandal.
Thank you so much to everyone who’s taken the time to watch this one ❤️

A pleasure to speak on behalf of Boro in @jackwardpod’s documentary on Spygate!
A saga which we might never see the likes of again!
Do check it out! 👊
