I don’t see how it is pushing to hit drop shots, short angles, lobs, volley winners and going to the net. She had 32 winners, zero on serve and 11 at the net, that’s not from just getting the ball back.

And she steps in and takes it out of the air with a drive backhand before playing a great drop shot and finishing the point with a volley winner. I really don’t understand tennis fans who don’t like that kind of variety.

@jphayes21 @puresinnema Pushers usually don’t as much much variety and go forward as often. I’m far from certain that she can sustain it outside this tournament, but nice to see her succeed here.

@jphayes21 @puresinnema Funny thing is, when the opponents counter her higher slower shots with the same, she has often stepped in and taken the balls early. Either out of the air or just off the bounce, and hit plenty of winners that way. She loops the forehand a lot but can drive the backhand well.

@lucassoooh @AEtennis_ När Ruud förlorade poängen var det för att någon i publiken ropade ut och han stannade up för att kolla märket. Den var inne så Fonseca får poängen eftersom Ruud hade fel. Fonseca fick spela om bollen då det var linjedomaren som ropade ut under pågående spel men den var inne.

@nishikoripicks His movement was something I thought could hold him back a bit when I saw him play last year, but during RG he looks both faster and lighter on his feet than previously. I knew he’d improve from 18 of course, but thought it would take a bit longer and not quite to this level.

@TommyBaileys @greystrength63 What data is there that deadlifts are bad then? I’m sure some are injured doing them, but I also assume that can happen from any type of lift if you’re unlucky or doing them wrong. Everything we train carries some risk of injury, but we do them because of the benifits we get.

@DanWolken Would like a new slam winner, but I can’t see anyone else but Djokovic taking it now. He’s still the 3rd best player, now the best in the draw and so much stronger mentally than the others.
