For AI to respect human dignity and truly serve the common good, responsibility must be clearly defined at every stage: from those who design and develop these systems to those who use them and rely on them for concrete decisions. It must be possibile to identify who must “account” for decisions, justify them, monitor them, and, when necessary, challenge them and remedy any harm caused.
We cannot consider #AI to be morally neutral. In reality, every technical tool embodies choices and priorities through what it measures, ignores, and optimizes, and how it classifies people and situations. Ethical discernment cannot be limited to asking whether we are using a system for good or bad purposes. It must also examine how that system is designed and what vision of the human person and society is embedded in the data and models that guide it. #MagnificaHumanitas
@Kahyubi Age-verification systems with IDs are everywhere (e.g., banks, e-wallets) yet those don’t become aides of hacking. Social media platforms like FB, X, & IG have reputable data privacy systems (Idk with TikTok though🤷♀️). The state must delegate the responsibility to the platforms.
@Kahyubi Bank-related and e-wallet apps are not social media platforms, so there’s no need to ban minors from using those softwares’ junior versions.
I also said that the age of ban can be lower such that those aged 12 years or below are the only ones prohibited from using social media.
@Dream93Walker@iamjustindizon “once wlang improvements when reach 18 tuloy ang kaso”
You just said what I wanted to debunk about your comment.
Idk but you need to know why many academic institutions prohibit the use of AI. Its responses aren’t 100% accurate all the time.
@Dream93Walker@iamjustindizon Kailangang baguhin ang ibang mga bahagi ng batas pero maaari pa rin namang makulong ang 15-year-old pagtungtong ng 18 depende sa magiging desisyon ng korte as they can “order execution of sentence” or kapag nag-21, though pwede ring ma-discharge.
Don’t rely on AI, read.
@Jake_Peter_27@iusunbaenim You’re not in the position to define “true Catholic”. You can’t question an underprivileged family, facing a big institution, to yearn vengeance for their hopeful child who’s taken away from them.
Vengeance culture has precolonial roots, btw. I don’t mean to normalize it, though
@nicogpz@ejontheedge We can’t expect people in deep grief to do critical thinking and speak/act rationally.
However, hyperboles can fuel violence and hatred.
I hate Duterte, but I'd never tell a mother who lost her child how to grieve especially when that loss came from a preventable tragedy caused by negligence. A mother buried her son, and some of you are more bothered by her anger than by the fact that a young life was lost.
@Kahyubi But not all parents can be trusted all the time. How about single parents who need to work, even overtime, to sustain their finances? When confronted by their parents, children would just resort to their information bubbles or groups online that perpetuate confirmation biases.
@Kahyubi Rampant disinformation hinders education outside the classroom. Students would think plausible information online as factual, especially if they lack tools to critically analyze each and every information.
Also, I don’t know where mo napulot ‘yang “Digital ID” na sinasabi mo🥴
@GarciaKit13@MB_unite@manilabulletin That’s not as significant as you think. GDP growth rates tend to be high in every Q4 because of holiday szn shopping and rise in tourism rates kasi panahong walang pasok. The oil crisis due to US-Iran conflict that escalated in late February also affected Q1 GDP growth rate.
This is just lazy. Im more curious to know how they were raised, quality of their home environment or if they were exposed to substance abuse. Not to mention, their mental health at the moment.
Playing violent games doesnt make you violent in real life. Fact.
@Kahyubi Minors can be more susceptible to clicking dubious links & believing disinformation, with their spread hastened by AI tools. 15–17 y/o may be less vulnerable though. Even countries with strong IT backgrounds like Australia, Malaysia, & UAE banned >16 and >15 from social media.
@Kahyubi In which part did I say privacy will be compromised? The proposal seeks to ban minors from social media to provide ample time for development activities.
Ang tanga lang din na ni-quote mo yung reply ko rather than replying to it. Para ba wala gaanong makakita ng katangahan mo?
