@YoungStreete Sorry, Lisa, but you haven't clued in yet. Trump wanted to own Greenland to gain access to critical minerals. But Denmark and Greenland retain sovereignty.
He had to strike this deal—which is almost identical to the existing one—and call it a victory to avoid losing face.
@claravonlangen “Give you their land”…? USA does still not own Greenland. Denmark and Greenland retain sovereignty. Anything else has never been an option.
In reality, this agreement is almost exactly the same as the one that has been in place since 1951. The deal is also good for Europe.
@atrupar Because, like the child he is, Trump craves having everything viewed as a victory for himself. Denmark and Greenland can live with that. Even though the agreement is almost identical to the existing one, they make sure to praise Trump so that the child remains happy.
@PatriotWoman22@nicksortor Yes, of course he praises Trump, who all world leaders know should be treated like a 5-year-old child. Trump wants to be praised. And now everyone is happy.
@OzraeliAvi Trump is taking credit for a deal that is almost identical to the existing one. He wanted to own Greenland—that is never going to happen. He wanted direct access to oil and minerals, but the US has to negotiate extraction rights on equal terms with others.
@DBrodyReports Trump is trying to frame this as a victory, but it is a huge defeat. He wanted to own Greenland, because he wanted direct access to the soil. However, the agreement affirms the sovereignty of Denmark and Greenland.
There are no major changes compared to the existing agreement.
@FoxNews The pettiest person ever to occupy the White House. Everything has to be about him. Otherwise, it doesn't count.
Trump likes to call himself strong. He is anything but. A strong man does not need to draw attention to himself all the time.
@FoxNews If Trump weren't such a great admirer of Putin, he would take a more sober view of the war. Russia attacked Ukraine. Period.
Putin will continue the war as long as Trump is US president because he knows he can manipulate him.
@FoxNews The US already has a huge deficit. The only way to get the money is for the people to pay for it themselves. The cost will be hidden in higher prices.
If you came across such a scam on the internet, you would think “how stupid do you think I am?” and quickly scroll on.
@CTVNews Trump can be happy that FIFA is led by a person who is as corrupt as himself. If FIFA had a decent person in charge, the rules would be followed.
Of course in the same way that US laws would be followed with a decent man in the White House.
@Acyn Corruption can destroy any sport, and Infantino has been doing his part for years. And together with Trump, (who is the most openly corrupt president of a country that historically does not consider itself a banana state), they are destroying the very essence of this sport.
@lstroem@OJoelsen Trump and his people make everything about Trump. Even the 250th anniversary of the United States Trump is using celebrating himself. The Rebildfest is - as you say - non political, but it wouldn't be with a MAGA ambassador on the podium.
@LarryTaunton@GiorgiaMeloni She's just had enough of Trump's repeated lies. Surely some Americans could learn something from that. But you continue to support him brainlessly. Truth has become indifferent to you.
@FoxNews After the loss of human lives and an America and the rest of the world in economic instability…
Before Trump, Iran's nuclear program was closely monitored. They did not have the ability to make nuclear weapons. Not until Trump tore up Obama's deal.
He is so pathetic.
@FoxNews This administration is no longer hiding their distasteful attempts to take over democratically run cities and states. They are frantically trying to hold on to power. It will only get worse as the midterm elections approach.
Make sure America remains a democracy.
