@Fitzzy73@Colton_Hill Trades take 2. He didn’t sell the farm for one player. If every package request was ridiculous then having two good centers means nothing with no wingers or depth to surround them with.
@Jesse40526840@19_DarkWing_19@RyanHanaWWP Can’t count on friends and hometowns to get a deal done. Imagine giving that up and he walks in FA in 2027. Or if he’s signs for $12 AAV in Minnesota, is that worth it still? Two seasons of him doesn’t give the Wings 16 playoff wins.
@Jesse40526840@19_DarkWing_19@RyanHanaWWP I don’t disagree, but teams can’t just trade for players. It takes assets and a willing trade partner, then the conjunction of what that partner is asking for among assets. Ignoring Wild trade, if Vancouver said Ed and Raymond as requirements, is that justifiable for Hughes?
@MrNibbyDibs@larkinseider I got you. It’s both a sarcastic comment, but also unfortunately real. Some know it’s a joke, but even one is too many realistically thinking the way of “how can he sign a nobody for three years?”
@mrgrips1@RyanHanaWWP Because Bettman would allow the Wings a lottery pick? Detroit has magically slipped something like 15 of 16 possible spots in the lottery system.
Here comes the anti-Yzerman tweets. As if losing Larkin, then Copp and MBN in the same game against the back-to-back champs is the worst thing in the world. The loss hurts after a late lead when they drastically needed two points, but Yzerman can’t control injuries…
“Do something Yzerman”
“Yzerman over here sleeping”
“Yzerman really going to do nothing?”
“Yzerscam”
*Yzerman adds Faulk and goes up a first and third with a strong pipeline and now fans hate it*
Darned if you do, darned if you don’t…
@DBecky93@RyanHanaWWP Lots can happen before deadline, but current team plus MBN, Danielson, Bear, Buchelnikov, Kiiskinen, and other prospects should make moving a first easier. Especially for the right guy and the ability to dangle a second-tier prospect like Lombardi, Mazur, Wallinder or Buium.
@DBecky93@RyanHanaWWP Also missed the first part, I agree a superior D would be a better in playoffs, but as Yzerman finds a fit (hopefully) he’s providing his value. Having to swap Ed for Hamonic is going to destroy the blue line, especially since we’ve seen several years Mo and Chiarot do not work.
@DBecky93@RyanHanaWWP Can’t fully disagree, but his Corsi is going to cave him when he starts so much in D zone. Also has a 65% GF%, while he’s not on the right side of shot metrics, his underlying numbers prove value defensively. Him and AlJo are allowing shots, but have only allowed 8 GA as a pair.
@DBecky93@RyanHanaWWP JBD hasn’t been an issue. Plus/minus isn’t a great stat, but he’s tied third on the team. For what they expect of him and starting 60% of his shifts in the D zone, he’s been reliable on third-pair.
I have no positive notes on Hamonic. Hated the signing and hate it more each game
Lions lost three of these games by the way. Not saying they would have won all three, but it would be an interesting record if games were called fairly. #DetroitVsEverybody
