Over a decade, research abstracts/papers in residency applications have increased 2-3x!!
No one wins in this kind of "arms race" 👎👎👎
Average applicant abstract/papers by specialty:
Neurosurg: 24
Derm: 19

Hey #MedTwitter friends! I just finished my first draft of my personal statement to apply for #residency in #psychiatry If anyone is interesting in reading it & giving feedback, it would be greatly appreciated!
Hey #medwitter & #Psychiatry What are your opinions about how important away rotations are? I’d love to do one but my 4th year schedule would have to get jumbled, so I’m needed some advice!
Huge thanks to the #APAAM2023 conference for all of the wisdom shared. It was truly a great experience that further assured that psychiatry is right field for me.
I’ll continue to reflect & may have more eloquent thoughts later, but WOW! @ACPIMPhysicians, I feel so lucky to have found myself at Leadership Day. I learned so much. This is the first step of a career of advocacy, especially for primary care and medical education. #ACPLD
So proud of @MalRobichaux for getting inducted in Gold Humanism Honor Society tonight. She’ll be the kindest palliative/geriatric angel-of-a-doc you’ll ever meet.
Mental health care is health care.
And during National Mental Health Awareness Month, we honor the absolute courage of the tens of millions living with mental health conditions.
I'll always fight to get every American access to the care they need to live full and happy lives.
A busy life is not a symbol of status. It's a symptom of trying to do too much for too many people.
A full calendar brings a surplus of stress and a shortage of energy. Reflecting and relaxing should be top priorities.
Unscheduled time isn't wasted. It's invested in well-being.
