It is always great to see our friends Wally and Tessie! We can’t say thank you enough to the @RedSoxFund for their support of ASFL Baseball and Softball since the inception of this ASFL department in 2020. In 2025, the ASFL Baseball and Softball department across MA and CT raised over $170,000 for the @MGHCancerCenter
Our top fundraiser of ASFL Soccer, William Umscheid, was honored at Gillette Stadium as the New England Revolution's Hero of the Match. It was great to celebrate Will's efforts in the A Shot For Life fundraising process, he raised over $4,000 for cancer research at Mass General Brigham. Will, thank you so much for all of your hard work in helping advance the mission of our organization.
We can't say enough how much we appreciate the Revs for their support of ASFL Soccer! Soccer is a relatively new department for us in comparison to basketball, but it has taken significant strides in the last two years. Altogether, ASFL Soccer raised $175,000 throughout New England in 2025. We are excited to far surpass that number in 2026. #ASFL
Tonight’s @NERevolution Hero of the Match, representing A Shot for Life, is Will Umscheid.
@ASFL_Shoot4Cure is a sports-based cancer research organization that has provided millions of dollars in funding to cancer research trials at Mass General Hospital. In addition to raising money for cancer research, ASFL has a secondary focus of working with athletes to provide a platform for their talent to impact the world far beyond the court, field, or ice.
Will was the top fundraiser among all ASFL NE soccer players this year, raising over $4,000 for the Mass General Hospital Cancer Center. After a standout career at Belmont Hill, Will is going to continue his soccer career at Carleton College.
Thank you Will, for your commitment and dedication to fighting cancer!

The A Shot For Life Challenge names the winner the “Best Shooter in (State)”, and it doubles as a major fundraiser for Cancer Research. This initiative exists in MA, RI, and CT - with more states coming!
It was great to be at St. George’s today, our RI home, to greet a group of our 2025 athletes for orientation. I never leave here without getting my shots up, one of my favorite gyms in the world to shoot in @GoSGDragons@ASFL_Shoot4Cure
The Campaign for Mass General was largest ever fundraising campaign for a standalone academic medical center. We were honored to be a part of it, and we are thrilled to have contributed over $1M to the funding that lead to one of the biggest breakthroughs in the history of brain tumor research.
It was great to meet the patients that have received the treatment that ASFL has helped bring to life. We were honored to be featured in the program’s video, and are excited to share that video when it is available.
Sports dominate the social media pages and the Google News results of A Shot For Life. However, we are a cancer research organization that uses sports, not the other way around. We are proud of everyone, alumni and current players, that wear the ASFL logo and play their sport for someone that is battling cancer. We could not be more excited by the progress being achieved at the Mass General Brigham Cancer Center, and we are excited to continue to elevate our support level in the years ahead 💙 #ASFL
@AaronGogley how? the prof would bring it to the dean and they would put it thru an ai checker (if the prof didn’t already). there’s a chain of command idk how the prof would be in any sort of trouble. even if they were wrong it would just end up being “oh ok i was wrong not ai.”
Congratulations to Maggie Berleth of St. Paul’s on being the winner of the 2025 ASFL - Boston Bruins Foundation Award! The award is given each year to the top fundraiser in the MA ASFL Classic. Maggie raised well over $7,000 for cancer research!
We can’t say thank you enough to the Boston Bruins Foundation for their support of ASFL Hockey! 🐻💙 #ASFL #Bruins
just saw an “anti elon tesla club” sticker (on a tesla, obviously). that’s like slapping an “anti trader joe trader joes customer” on your grocery bag that i packed. you already vocalized your opinion through your dollar, brother.
