1 Thessalonians 5:17
Pray without ceasing.
Luke 18:1
And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;
Prayer is the only advantage the believer has!
The painful truth is this…
If the average believer in Nigeria were to read the Book of Acts without the influence of our present culture, he would almost conclude that he was reading about an entirely different religion.
Somewhere along the journey… we changed the tune.
The Church in the Bible sang one song. The Church in Nigeria has gradually learned another.
The Church in the Bible sought conformity to CHRIST.
We seek acceptance from men. They raised disciples.
We have become experts at raising audiences.
The sound coming from our altars is no longer the sound that echoed through Jerusalem… through Antioch… through Ephesus… through the Church that “turned the world upside down.”
The frightening part is this…
A generation can become so accustomed to a substitute that it mistakes it for the original.
And perhaps that is where we are.
We have become familiar with a version of Christianity that the Apostles would scarcely recognize.
One of the greatest judgments that can befall a people is not that they abandon the Bible.
It is that they continue holding the Bible while no longer allowing the Bible to define them.
I fear this is where the Church in Nigeria now stands.
We still raise our Bibles. We still quote the Scriptures.
We still end every sermon with, “GOD bless you.” But somewhere between the Upper Room and our generation…
We changed the tune. Read the Book of Acts carefully.
Read the Epistles slowly. Read the words of our LORD without trying to defend our present condition.
Then ask yourself… Who changed? Because it certainly was not GOD. The Gospel has not changed.
The HOLY GHOST has not changed. The demands of discipleship have not changed.
The cost of following CHRIST has not become cheaper. We changed. We altered the sound.
If you are reading this, can you make a solemn vow to the LORD. Tell HIM, “You will commit Your entire life to ensuring that this Gospel will not change in your hands.”
@Olami_deeEbony That's early marriage. No counseling, no courtship, no wedding. They would've made them couples, yes they can relinquish roles and responsibilities for sometime. But still attending church, church is suppose to support, correct, strengthen not push the lady to clubs, insanity
@torty_mercy@SenRemiTinubu Her son Seyi... no be him suppose be the major distributor for the kuli kuli business??? Make other youths for learn work from am??
@BeckyTimileyin@Brotherola Refusing to preach the accurate gospel, the gospel as it is in scriptures, is on its own already a license to sin. The physician must not necessarily issue out a wrong prescription, incomplete prescriptn means that the recovery of the patient wil be grosly affected or hindered
@BeckyTimileyin@Brotherola Jesus told the woman caught in adultery to go... but to sin no more, "hypergrace gospel" says a believer can get up from the bed of fornication straight to the pulpit to lead prayer or praise and worship. Which brings us to the place of falling into sin and intentional sin
@BeckyTimileyin@Brotherola Its not about what we see or do not see them do. Its about their doctrine and scriptural position on the subject matter. Also I gave you the scriptural position on the subject of grace as not being a license to dwell in sin, as some preach.
@BeckyTimileyin@Brotherola ... still attending church lose their salvation without even knowing they've lost their salvation because of the kind of teaching and scriptural bankruptcy their shepherd dishes out to them. Quite sad!
@BeckyTimileyin@Brotherola ... Gen 2:15 says man is to dress and to keep, not only the garden, man has a responsibility and duty not only of dressing but also of keeping all that he recieves from our gracious God, salvation is no different sister! "Hypergrace gospel" has made some believers who are...
@BeckyTimileyin@Brotherola What you dont protect you may lose, salvation is precious, purchased with the precious blood of the Son of God, hence the need to guard in jealousy by being reasonable, even moreso. with our bodies Romans 12:1. What is the essence of dressing if we are not ready to keep it...
NOTE THE CAPITALIZED WORDS, for believers
But God's firm foundation stands, bearing this seal: “The Lord knows those who are his,” and, “Let EVERYONE who names the name of the Lord DEPART FROM INIQUITY.”
Now in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and silver but also of wood and clay, some for honorable use, some for dishonorable.
Therefore, if anyone CLEANSES HIMSELF FROM WHAT IS DISHONORABLE, he will be a vessel for honorable use, set apart as holy, USEFUL to the master of the house, READY for every GOOD WORK.
– Paul, Apostle of Jesus Christ, by the will of God.
See, this is not just about going to heaven. GOOD WORK is in view here. So, there are vessels in the house that are however not fit for honourable use. They are not "useful to the Master", because they would not cleanse themselves. But if I say people living in sin, especially sexual sin, have no business with public (pulpit) ministry, some wannabe apostles will become paranoid.
Well, hear me again: It is easier and faster to get into heaven than to legitimately get into public ministry. For instance, a new convert, who is qualified for heaven, is not qualified for 'ministry', because the Lord forbids novices from public pulpit Ministy.
Let us just say that the bar is so low now that people who should be attending New converts' class in the AGM church down the street are behind keypads and lecterns – claiming to be leaders over God's holy people.
Kai! How did we get here?
INSTRUCTIONS FOR SAINTS
But among you there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality, or of any kind of impurity, or of greed, because these are improper for God’s holy people.
Nor should there be obscenity, foolish talk or coarse joking, which are out of place, but rather thanksgiving.
For of this you can be sure: No immoral, impure or greedy person—such a person is an idolater—has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.
Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of such things God’s wrath comes on those who are disobedient.
Therefore do not be partners with them.
For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light
– Paul of Tarsus, Apostle extraordinaire
*** *** ***
If I were the one preaching and I said, as in the last line above, that believers should LIVE as children of light, & that they should not just confess they are children of light; If I said so, some deluded hypergracer would start convulsing and accusing me of advocating for Legalism.
If someone is angry when you repeat what the New Testament teaches, is that person an apostle or a fraud? Please, tell
@Brotherola ...making is look as if it is impossible for a believer who was once saved to lose his/her salvation. Scriptures has made it clear that a believer once saved can lose his/her salvation. Like you will see in Mathew 24:12-13. How that Jesus was referring to believers...
