@morgantate_ Bro, seriously. Buyers I’m working with are pickier than ever. I’m convinced they just don’t know what a real business looks like. I blame the influencers.
@CSMusicNut@haydenschott That’s great! When they announced the 9:30 start time, I told my daughter “lock in, we’re going to be here until midnight!” We were both very excited.
Earlier this week while at the @MAsource conference in Phoenix I had the privilege to walk 150 yards down from my hotel room to the @TPUSA HQ to pay my respects to @charliekirk11. It’s one thing to see everything in the news, it’s another to experience this in person. Quite the range of emotions, inspiration not being the least of them.
The Federal Reserve on Wednesday approved its second straight interest rate cut, a widely expected move that came despite little recent visibility on the economy due to the government shutdown. https://t.co/QnGBpR0wvf
Should you time the market when selling your business? I don't think it's necessary.
The process takes time, and there's so many things that can happen that you have no control over.
Get a good valuation, and if the number supports your next goals in life, go for it.
💭 “I’ve already found a buyer. Why would I need an advisor?”
3 reasons 👇
1️⃣ Finding a buyer is the easy part, structuring the deal is the hard part. Terms like net working capital, earn-outs, holdbacks, & non-competes can change everything.
2️⃣ You’re only halfway there. LOI → Close takes months.
3️⃣ One buyer ≠ best buyer. Value depends on synergy. Multiple buyers ensures the best deal.
My rules for earnouts:
- Never use as Plan A
- Only use to bridge valuation gap in a last resort or to capture near-term upside
- NEVER based on net income
