The strongest research, in any field, comes when multiple perspectives work together. Partisan politics shouldn’t be a part of #childcarebc; @ECEBC consider research that is not just with @10aDayPlan or at least that provides critical analysis of the research you rely on.
ECE needs to become a true profession. What do similar professions have? Regulatory body; Reportable standards of practise; Oversight. Toronto - quality rating standards, AB - accreditation, BC - nothing. @ECEBC advocate for professional standards to help the ece industry.
House cleaners are paid more money per hour than ECE teachers earn. No wonder #childcarebc is in crisis. @ECEBC work together with market based providers to solve the crisis. solutions exist beyond depending on an unreliable government and beyond @bcndp rhetoric of unionization.
At least 8 parents at my daycare, all submitted their affordable child care benefit prior to August 15th. No response from the government. @KatrinaCBurnaby Why set deadlines when you don’t hold yourself to them? #childcarebc
When @KatrinaCBurnaby replaces childcare fees - which are due on the 1st of the month - with the affordable child care benefit but she won’t pay child care providers on the 1st of the month, providers are unable to pay bills. #childcarebc
I might not understand the ins and outs of #childcarebc...but I know that @KatrinaCBurnaby promised payments within 3-5 business days when providers submit reports by the 22nd. But that isn’t happening, putting providers at risk. Parent pay our billson time, why won’t the @bcndp
The #eceteachershortage is bad, that a MINIMUM of 5 job postings come up on Facebook groups per day in this province. What does this mean? Existing childcare spaces that are not being used. #childcarebc
@KatrinaCBurnaby@ECEBC1@adriandix to value every child, you must value every educator. That means funding professional pay for the professional work ECE do - in residential, public or commercial settings. #childcarebc
@ECEBC1@CCCA_BC 25/hour wage is only appropriate depending on region & ignores total compensation. Paid pro d days to cover the min40 hour license requirement. Benefits. Pension. Consider “ece deserves professional compensation, one part of which is a wage on minimum 25/hr” #childcarebc
Did you know? 7/10 provinces fought for wage equality for ECEs from the government. It's about time BC does the same. Join our movement by signing our petition at https://t.co/L7QgJ2crIj. #ChildCareBC#BCpoli
To fight for more incentives for ECEs, and to solve the ECE teacher shortage crisis, sign our petition at https://t.co/L7QgJ2crIj. We can't have spaces without teachers. #ChildCareBC#BCPoli

Where will this come from?? RT @sharongregson: Absolutely why there must be immediate wage enhancements for educators #childcarebc#10adayplan https://t.co/jMgUbKWlgt
Did you know? Fighting for wages, is fighting for quality amidst the transition to universal child care. Sign our petition at https://t.co/L7QgJ2crIj if you agree. #ChildCareBC#BCPoli
@ECEBC1@sharongregson@10aDayPlan to value every child we need to value every educator. That means market based child care providers and NFP providers. Children don’t see auspice - they see a loving caregiver. #childcarebc
In Quebec, local committees in each territory evaluate every demand to open a daycare, even projects that are private and not seeking government subsidies. Is this model the future for BC? https://t.co/E5kZDWdU6a #ChildCareBC#BCPoli
But the government is ignoring all of those who actually work with the children. #childcarebc#cdnchildcare Fair compensation, or lose BC's trained ECE's.
