Absolute insanity today in Bnei Brak. Two female IDF soldiers made a house visit to a soldiers family in the ultra-orthodox city and a massive riot started. A crowd of hundreds chased the soldiers, who were forced to hide in a dumpster and eventually a local resident's home for protection.

Three police officers injured, police cars overturned, they set a police motorcycle on fire, and threw stones and trash, journalists who came to cover it were beaten. The soldiers and police were called Nazis. Then the police brutally beat protestors. 23 people were arrested.

What we are seeing is Israeli society falling apart. Secular Israelis are increasingly militaristic and are focused on trying to force the ultra orthodox into the army. The military has issued over 24,000 draft notices to Haredi men, but compliance remains extremely low (only 1,200 reporting), fueling secular demands for stricter enforcement. Meanwhile, the protestors are increasingly alienated from a state they see as illegitimate and a betrayal of Judaism.

Liberal Israelis are leaving the country, leaving only the ultra-orthodox and Kahanist clans to fight each other. They will tear each other apart.
