Hard truth:
A lot of you want to become big artists on social media yet are so complacent and stuck in your victim mindset and it’s actively contributing to your stagnation. There are artists, both big and small, trying to inform you about the steps you can be taking to legitimately improve your experience on social media and potentially grow a career, yet so many of you will find a million and one excuses to not have to move out of fear, ignorance, or ambivalence.
Obviously there are people who have things going on in their lives that contribute to them not being able to give their all into their career paths, but the cohort of people that have gotten so used to not bettering their chances of success due to being inconsistent in their approach to posting and/or not knowing how business in social media works in relation to art would much rather sit behind their shields of nihilism, ignorance, and victimization instead of doing the work of being part of a community to promote each other and make sure we all have something to eat at the end of the day besides depression.
Luck is an undeniably huge factor of building an online status as an artist, but consistency and quality is what will ultimately keep people around. Success is found through sacrifice, self reflection, and having faith in oneself to achieve their dreams, and community is built through everyone sacrificing a little bit of something for the common and greater good, those willing to put forth the effort and do the work will bear the fruits of the labor while those who stagnate and refuse to change their way of thinking will forever have seeds in a garden that will never grow.
