…if we were indeed fully persuaded that Christ is of His own accord stretching forth His hand to us, who of us would not come in perfect confidence?
-Calvin
“Alexander, Caesar, Charlemagne, and I have founded empires. But on what did we rest the creations of our genius? Upon force. Jesus Christ founded His empire upon love; and at this hour millions of men would die for Him.”
-Napoleon
The mere fact that the Church instituted a universal calendar centered around Christ is another sign that Christianity has begun to remake the world. The new heavens and new earth aren’t a fairy tale but we are experiencing them right now.
Christians "edify" (oikodomeo) one another. An architectural metaphor: In the Spirit, we build one another as the Spirit's temple.
Kings build and maintain temples. Edification is a royal act.
Woke white chicks totally misunderstand the zodiac. The twelve constellations are given to us as a symbol of the Church’s rule over the cosmos which is being accomplished by the risen Christ.
Christ literally offers what so many young men of this generation are hungry for: forgiveness of sins, a reason to live and some crazy lore. You can’t tell me you can find anything better.
Just as God took away the stone of Jesus’s tomb, He takes away our hearts of stone and gives us a spirit filled heart of flesh. Repent, believe and receive the free gift of His joy.
Christ, by His death, shut the mouths of the ancient serpent, just as the Angel of the Lord shut the mouths of the lions in the Lions den. The God-Man descended into the den of judgement with us just as He did for Daniel, and rescues us from the mouth of death.
As God’s children, He anoints us with the oil of His Spirit and lights us on fire as living sacrifices that forever burn for Him. Thus, everything we do in the body by the Spirit is sacrificial worship pleasing to the Father. (Rom 12:1-2)
Christ dwells with us in a specific way on the day of His rest. People who work on Sundays are like Martha, distracted in their labor. Those who celebrate the Sabbath are like Mary, resting at Jesus’s feet. (Luke 10:39).
Blood moons are a sign of God’s judgment. Thus, when we look at one we ought to take time to repent, remembering God’s justice upon the wicked. One day we will stand before His judgement seat and give an account for our lives.
