Some of you have forgotten that only three years ago you were perfectly capable of writing a text, writing an email, telling a bedtime story to a child, and it should worry you that powerful companies have convinced us we can’t do things we’ve been doing since the dawn of time.
“People have said, “Don’t cry” to other people for years and years, and all it has ever meant is “I’m too uncomfortable when you show your feelings: Don’t cry.” I’d rather have them say, “Go ahead and cry. I’m here to be with you.”
On this 25th Anniversary of the #JDDJ, let’s not forget that it was Ratzinger who saved the agreement through an emergency meeting with Lutheran reps in his brother’s house in Regensburg. (Thanks @catholickungfu)

A temple and a teacher I did find,
With a large text to comment on. No ear
But eyes themselves were all the hearers there,
And every stone, and every star a tongue,
And every gale of wind a curious song.
About 10% of my students did the reading today (Luther’s “on whether soldiers, too, can be saved?”). We managed to read through several passages together and have a good conversation, but oof. Is it already that time of the term?
