I am posting profile headers from states in order of their admission to the Union, but this is my personalized map of states in order of my visits. It is color-shaded: red for my "original 13" and lighter shades for later states.
Now taking @SEPTA@SEPTA_TRE through #I95Collapse area. 4:15 pm from Suburban. Silverliner 4 set, good crowd but not too much. Push-pull set waits on track 7 for 4:30 extra.
Hey folks I'm currently working on a story for @PhillyInquirer about commuters affected by the I-95 collapse. Looking for commuters who normally take I95 and now will have changes to their commute including extra time, money, gas, etc. Please message me if this applies to you!
SEPTA crew directed any Cynwyd passengers to bus location. Only three people seen at Bala for peak train time. The 44 bus covers this station on City Ave (few take the Gladwyne branch) SEPTA Bus Revolution would cut/reduce the 44.
The last time SEPTA had to scrounge up equipment for a months-long crisis (Silverliner in 2016), Amtrak and MARC lent train sets and it was like Thanksgiving in July.
Considering how short the Cynwyd line is and how even pre pandemic, it had low ridership, it's better off regauged and connected to the Overbrook Trolley as a spur. It would get more ridership that way. What does everyone think?
@ChipMurphy@RogerPudacter@chrisoIIey@dmtrubman CRRC still on, but three years behind schedule per a March article in the Inky. They did spruce up the three Cynwyd line stations and add high platforms to Wynnefield and Bala.
@_spacepeanut_ @2urbaneric1 That would work, in the past I heard a more ambitious idea of running it along Parkside and Girard to the old Reading City Branch.
@_spacepeanut_ @2urbaneric1 Here is the last day. I’m sure it will be back some time. Proposed budget ax in 1996, bussed for months in 2016 for SL5 problems, then COVID. Maybe better as a light rail line if regulators allow it. #Cynwyd
@Amtrak@_spacepeanut_ Issue appears to be with credit card processing. If you use the iPhone app and choose ApplePay as your payment method, it works. Using a credit card won't work on the app or website.
@WandrMe FYI: The difference is since the Downeaster business fare is refundable, the through trip prices the refundable fare. During the fare review process, the lower (non-refundable) Acela fare option miraculously pops up!
