When I heard about Senator Graham’s death last night, the first thing I thought about was not all the things he said and did in service of Donald Trump. I thought of the time before Donald Trump when he was a brother to Senator John McCain.
A time when senators from different parties could fight about politics and still be friends. A time when a conservative Republican from South Carolina could say of my father: “If you can’t admire Joe Biden as a person, you’ve got a problem. He’s the nicest person I’ve ever met in politics. As good a man as God ever created.”
That is the Senator Graham I will remember today. Not because I have forgotten what came after. Because in that memory there is hope. Hope for a country where brothers can fight like hell over policy and still share a meal, and a laugh, and the loss of the people they love.
I will choose to remember the time before Trump. Because I believe in an America after Trump.
Reporter: You cited $50 million worth of condoms sent to Gaza as fraud, but fact-checking showed it was actually Gaza in Mozambique for HIV prevention.
Musk: First of all, some of the things I say will be incorrect. Nobody is gonna bat 1000.
(Eric Trump repeated this lie—he claimed it was $100 million—last night on Fox News.)
plan to build 3 million new homes.
Trump had a plan to place white men above everyone else, and to use his office to exact revenge on anyone he doesn’t like.
And nearly 50% of voters thought his plan was better.
You can never convince me it was because of credibility or
Just a reminder to the people still here:
Kamala had a plan to lower food costs, cut student debt, 25k help with buying a first home, 6K for a new baby, 3K a year to help with children, a plan to make housing more available by blocking private equity from buying homes, and
🔥🔥Tim Walz absolutely roasted Trump over his $60 Bibles printed in China:
“This dude even outsourced God to China…I don't blame him. He didn't notice the 'Made in China' sticker because they put it inside, a place he's never looked in the Bible."
I had a phone conversation today with a very nice young chap from Pakistan. This is how it went:
"Hello, how are you today?"
"I'm very well thank you for asking, how are you and more to the point, WHO are you?"
"Madam, my name is Sanjit, and I'm calling you from Microsoft.”
"Microsoft, is that a city in Pakistan?”
" No Madam, MICROSOFT, the computer company. I'm calling to tell you that we have found a problem with your computer.”
"REALLY, that's quite concerning.”
"Yes Madam, it can become very serious indeed but thankfully I will be able to fix it for you.”
"No, I meant it's very concerning because I don't HAVE a computer.”
“You don't?"
“No.”
"Ahh, it must be a problem on your laptop Madam.”
"Don't have one.”
"Ipad?"
"Nope.”
"Tablet?"
"I have none of those things. As a matter of fact, I don't even have a telephone.”
After a few seconds of silence he said "Madam, you are lying to me now!"
I said "Well, you started it!!" and put the phone down.
All of the economic experts and doomsayers predicted America would be in a recession by now. I don't believe President Biden gets enough credit for steering America clear of one.
You know he'd get the blame if we were in a recession.
Not only that, but the stock market is humming along nicely at over 37,000 -- another thing Republicans would blame him for if it wasn't booming.
Thank you President Biden! 💪💙🇺🇸
Here is George Clooney response after Trump accused him of being a "Hollywood elite."
"Here’s the thing: I grew up in Kentucky. I sold insurance door-to-door. I sold ladies’ shoes. I worked at an all-night liquor store. I would buy suits that were too big and too long and cut the bottom of the pants off to make ties so I’d have a tie to go on job interviews. I grew up understanding what it was like to not have health insurance for eight years.
So this idea that I’m somehow the “Hollywood elite” and this guy who takes a shit in a gold toilet is somehow the man of the people is laughable.
People in Hollywood, for the most part, are people from the Midwest who moved to Hollywood to have a career. So this idea of “coastal elites” living in a bubble is ridiculous. Who lives in a bigger bubble?
He lives in a gold tower and has twelve people in his company. He doesn’t run a corporation of hundreds of thousands of people he employs and takes care of. He ran a company of twelve people!
When you direct a film you have seven different unions all wanting different things, you have to find consensus with all of them, and you have to get them moving in the same direction.
He’s never had to do any of that kind of stuff. I just look at it and I laugh when I see him say “Hollywood elite.” Hollywood elite? I don’t have a star on Hollywood Boulevard, Donald Trump has a star on Hollywood Boulevard! Fuck you!"
