Michelle Obama:
“Don't even look at me about running, because you all are lying. You're not ready for a woman. So don't waste my time. We got a lot of growing up to do.”
my mom kept me from these classes and didn't educate me. when i got my period at 11 i had no clue what was happening. when i was having sex at 15 i knew nothing about ovulation or proper contraception. hiding things from your kids doesn't stop biology, it hurts your kids.
It’s been a year since the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade. Since then, 14 states have banned most abortions, leaving millions of women and girls with nowhere to turn for the care they need.
And yet, there are reasons to hope.
After Roe v. Wade was overturned, voters in Michigan, California, and Vermont helped enshrine abortion rights in their state constitutions. And governors in states like Nevada, Hawaii, and Pennsylvania have signed executive orders to protect abortion access.
i still remember how painful that night was. how tired my eyes and heart was. i still remember how i almost ran out of my breath while i was crying, and how i was trying to stop the noise i could make. i will never forget how difficult it was for me. i will never forget that pain
i saw an article that read “healing can be so hard when your inner child wants love, your teenage self wants revenge, and your current self only wants peace.”
man, i really related to that.
