September 15 - October 15 Hispanic Heritage Month is celebrated. My 6th graders created a mural composed of “feathers” which explain their interpretations of Frida Kahlo’s inspirational quote: “Feet, what do I need you for when I have wings to fly.”
For each of my student’s birthdays, I make them a card and add a treat to it! It’s a quick and simple way to show them that I care, and it makes them feel special! 🎈🎂

To kick off our unit on perseverance, I asked our students to create slogans to get us through the end of the year. We voted, and I turned the winning mottos into posters. The results:
HCPSS internet went out, so I read this story to my 7th graders. I was pleasantly surprised at how much they enjoyed being read to; especially a book for younger kids. Definitely going to make this a habit. 10/10 recommend.
We're excited to share that there is a new lactation room on campus! In addition to overseeing a lactation room in the Women's Center, we're also supporting the operation of the lactation room in The RAC! This room (073) can be found on the ground floor by the basketball courts.
