When I did 3 months of jail in North Carolina I learned a lot.

I learned that you dont actually have to commit a crime to get charged with or jailed for one.

I learned that Captain would lie to me and lie to cover.

I learned that c/o’s would just let you die if you were sick.

That a c/o would lie to put me on lockdown unnecessarily.

That people on the outside forget about you very quickly.

Having just a little money on your books to make a few phone calls or buy something from commissary means everything during your stay.

Being locked in a room/cage for up to 24 hours a day is absurd and not even close to being good enough for a dog or a human

I met my sons father at 16, he was 21. I had my son at 19 so I was an adult then. I absolutely do not think he should have been charged with statutory rape because I was consenting and I do feel that he should not be held criminally responsible for the action at all. (I am solely referring to my encounter not anyone elses by the way)

Girls do usually date guys their age or a few years older and at the time I was 16, here in America, it was normal for a 16 year old to date. If I had proper guidance and influence from any (but preferably) male family members, I might not have dated or had a sexual encounter until I was married. That is a whole other subject, though lol

By the way, yall can bad mouth or name call me all you want, I know who I am and what I believe in no matter what you have to say

Side note: After reading most of the comments, a lot of them are totally reading between the lines, exaggerating, jumping to conclusions, making baseless assumptions and accusations, with most of it not stemming from factual information. Almost like filling in the blanks on a mad lib

Unless she was clawing the shit out of him and doing everything humanly possible to stop him, then its not technically “rape,” in my opinion

The bigger question is why women allow themselves to be in situations that they later might regret or maybe just not fully understand why they participated

To everyone commenting, I actually have severe ptsd so I know all about trauma responses

I have had my own personal experiences and have seen and been told about many others experiences. I have a very wide perspective range on this subject

Obviously if the person is incapacitated or the perpetrator has a weapon, etc, it changes the situation

The bigger issue is why more women dont fight back when these things happen because a good majority of the time when a woman either feels now or later on that she was raped, it was while she was coherent and could have fought back

Also, I am definitely a girl and not a man. Being a girl I have spent a good amount of time around other girls, however, most of the friends in my life have been guys and not girls

Absolutely that could be part of the problem. A good majority of women in general have been conditioned into people-pleasing and allowing all kinds of shit to be going on without doing anything about it

I am not at all saying that if you don’t fight back that means lack of consent. Actually that is where that grey area is at in my opinion

I have experience in this subject myself and ive also been exposed to a lot of other peoples situations so I have a good ability to have a wide perspective

I never negated anyone from feeling raped if they didnt fight back, what im saying is from my perspective (I suffer from severe ptsd also so im fully aware of what fight vs flight is. You dont know what I have been through or to what extent my experience is either.

I have actually been beaten head to toe because I refused to have sex with an ex before and that is just one example of my various experiences

I have severe ptsd myself, I know all about fight or flight and like I said I also have personal experience with this subject.

I know why a person might have a different response to a trauma in general, I am asking specifically why so many women dont physically fight vs freeze in those situations?

Then once you go there with your thought process, the next step is to identify which response, fight vs freeze, would have a satisfactory ending for the “victim” if the supposed interaction was truly unwanted

This exact scenario happens quite often actually, with people of various age, income, status, religion or ethnic background

I used to know a girl back when I was younger that had a shoebox full of other peoples drivers licenses to give out to girls to get into bars

All im doing is pointing out some instances of a possible different perspective on this

I can understand why they have him in SHU, however he should be getting out of his cell at least for one hour every couple days and be able to make phone calls during that time

If the Society for the Protection of Animals saw dogs being held in these FDC Miami conditions, they would protest and demand it be shut down.

Instead we have human beings, pre-trial, yet to be convicted of any crime.
