To deny one identity one must be prepared for his to be denied as well. I do not believe in such arguments as they do not discredit a people’s right to justice and dignity.

@LiquidFaerie @abdalhadealani I have never disputed or proclaimed that Jews were not subjected to unspeakable acts of terror and violence. This however does not undermine that the Palestinians were also subjected to injustice and that a Jewish-dominated ideology could perpetuate such injustice.

@LiquidFaerie @abdalhadealani Your response clearly overlooks territories within historic Palestine that underwent documented forced expulsion of native population in what is now called modern Israel, which dates back to 1948 and even before then.

@LiquidFaerie @abdalhadealani No I have not… to argue that the Palestinian population has not been under the mercy of an oppressive state for the past seventy years is simply delusional, and to further question the validity of sympathising with such a cause reflects short-sight and narrow-thinking.

@LiquidFaerie @abdalhadealani It’s important to differentiate anti-semitism from a foundational disagreement with the State of Israel. The former is pure bigotry and the latter in a lot of cases stems from the oppression of the Palestinian population regardless of the ethnicity of the perpetuators.

I’m appalled to learn that in the middle of a war, the Israeli gov is poised to commit new funds to build more illegal settlements.

This is not self-defence and will not make Israel safer. The settlements are grave IHL breach, and they are Israel’s greatest security liability.
