Politicians: Public transport is important but Malaysians prefer to drive.
Look, if Malaysians have to panjat divider, jalan dekat tepi jalan with no sidewalk, walk 40 minutes to reach the LRT station actually in front of your house but is across the highway/behind a wall, wait for a bus that may or may not come, then OF COURSE they prefer to drive.
Don't put the blame on us. We don't love to drive. Many young Malaysians in fact refuse to own cars.
Yes, changing the infrastructure takes time and money. But let's recognise it's the current infrastructure that makes it hard for Malaysians to take public transport. Not that we don't like taking public transport or PREFER to drive.
A netizen recently shared a video showing a raised metal joint on the right lane of the Rawang Bypass route heading towards Serendah, with the footage quickly drawing concern online as road users were urged to be extra careful when passing through the area.

An important milestone in the fight against PJD Link - the elevated highway project that would split our beloved PJ in half without actually solving traffic woes. Congrats to the plaintiffs and legal team! And always #SayNoToPJDLink

A young friend told me they only found out recently about Teoh Beng Hock's death at the MACC building in 2009. Here's a throwback article from 2009 of (then) Pakatan Rakyat leaders DSAI, Lim Kit Siang and others lodging a complaint with Selangor MACC after Teoh's death.

Adakah ini SOP / modus operandi MACC?
Kalau nak kata last resort cuba WhatsApp, saya boleh faham.
Tapi mana perginya:
• Surat fizikal kepada alamat rasmi (mengikut IC)
• Notis secara maya kepada emel yang telah disahkan
• Panggilan telefon daripada landline rasmi
Sebelum saluran WhatsApp (iaitu saluran bukan rasmi) digunakan?
Takkan prosedur kerajaan adalah utk menghantar mesej melalui WhatsApp sebagai saluran utama?
Habislah kalau this is how our government runs.
The state wields great power over its citizens. Action by state agents therefore have to be legal, for a legitimate aim, and proportionate.
Should authorities be publishing home addresses and personal details when other means exist for contacting a person? Is it proportionate to issue public trace notices after a few messages have purportedly gone unanswered?
The state holds our personal data, our freedom, our very lives, in its hands. I expect this power to be wielded fairly, responsibly and proportionately. This is what we have fought for. We deserve better.
Agreed! We need to bring back local council elections urgently so that it’s clear councillors serve the people and not their political masters.

Selangor Gov must come clean on the SIP issue.
A resident’s FOI request to view the Selangor Intelligent Parking (SIP) documents was rejected, labelled “national secret.”
A parking system = national security threat? If it was truly an open tender, why the secrecy?

I hope the high-profile Bukit Dsara residents protesting the proposed 60-storey building take on the newly gazetted FT of KL Planning Rules 2025 which reduces public consultation & participation in development projects.
If we had good rules and systems for public participation & feedback, INCLUDING LOCAL COUNCIL ELECTIONS, then there would be less need for aggrieved residents to take to the streets to have their voices heard.

PJ residents won a court application in March 2025 for the Selangor govt to provide the social, impact and traffic assessments relating to the proposed and now-cancelled elevated highway PJD Link. However, the state has failed to provide them so far.

8 lanes and still completely jammed. Yet if you ask the average Malaysian gov minister or official, the best solution they can probably think of is just to add another lane.
We have a long way to go in terms of public engagement on urban development. Now, there is even LESS space for public consultation on development projects in KL.

The Selangor govt STILL hasn’t released the PJD link environmental, social and traffic impact assessments to PJ residents despite a COURT ORDER in March ‘25 compelling them to do so.
Now residents have to expend more effort to file committal proceedings to compel them to release the docs.

With recent events, just putting this out here again that digging up PJ to build a tolled, elevated highway, may not be the best idea, given the hidden infrastructure, including gas pipes, that lie beneath.

PJ residents successful in case demanding traffic, social and env impact assessments of PJD Link. Can finally see what has been submitted to govt about this tolled, elevated highway cutting through our neighbourhood.
Can't believe we had to go to court for this. Why was this info withheld in the first place? Shouldn't residents be entitled to know what is being proposed in front of their homes? And for whose benefit?
Access to concession agreement denied though. But we know the toll period is for 48 YEARS.

Elevated urban highways DO NOT solve traffic woes, and cause even MORE congestion, disruption and destruction of urban life during its construction.
Save our cities. No more elevated tolled highways through our neighbourhoods. They don't work.

Kinrara residents keeping up their protest against PJD link. Really heartened by the senior citizens who stood for an hour in the hot sun to protest this tolled elevated highway.
