Underrated part of UX design: URLs

The ESV Bible's web app is a great e.g. of delightful URL design

Hebrews+10 / hb10 / hb+10 all work. Same with 2cor12 / 2+Corinthians+12

hb+10+18 to jump straight to a verse

Forgiving, flexible, predictable. I never fumble around the UI.

1 surprising challenge: CC sometimes refuses to answer qs it thinks are not "coding-related" (e.g try "Give me a recipe for potato salad")

@itsTimWijaya Or they can just figure out ads! Just like the last gen of consumer products (eg Google) ppl in developing countries get to access for free just like ppl in the 1st world. And OpenAI gets to deepen brand/lock-in.

Contra GPT-5: we've moved past the phase where benchmarks mean everything, so the initial reaction is muted/confused bcos it's hard to point to a (at least pseudo-)objective metric to swing opinion either direction

Conversely, when I was at Meta the ad teams had the most stressful on calls bcos the consequences were clear as day ($ lost/ad minute outage)

On Tiktok watch time/retention is king so every creator learns to obsess over hooks/first 3s (& nothing drills it into a noob like me like the first brutal retention curve)
