My friend Don Keith just posted a disturbing video from Atlanta showing families and children taking cover on a train after yet another act of criminal chaos.

Think about that for a moment.

Parents weren’t enjoying a ride home.

Children weren’t looking out the window.

People were hiding under seats wondering if they were going to make it home.

Atlanta politicians will hold another press conference. Activists will blame everything except the people committing the crimes. Reporters will move on to the next story.

The families on that train don’t have that luxury.

Atlanta recorded well over 100 homicides last year. Thousands of violent crimes occur annually throughout the metro area. Yet the public is constantly told things are improving while ordinary people alter their behavior, avoid certain areas, and keep their heads on a swivel just to get through the day.

The first civil right is public safety.

Without it, nothing else matters.

Good on Don Keith for putting a spotlight on what too many politicians would rather ignore. The people trapped on that train deserve more than excuses. They deserve leaders willing to restore order, prosecute criminals, support law enforcement, and put innocent families ahead of political narratives.

A society is judged by whether decent people can live in peace.

The people hiding under those seats already gave Atlanta its report card.

As Chairman of the Georgia Republican Party, I stand with those demanding full transparency and integrity in the counting of votes for the upcoming Special Election in Congressional District 13.

In Gwinnett, DeKalb, Rockdale, Newton, Henry, and Clayton counties, every vote must be cast and counted on official paper ballots by sworn Georgia election officials — not outsourced to private vendors or conducted through closed systems. Counting must occur in public view with a clear, protected chain of custody for the physical ballots themselves.

Official ballots are paper documents. They are not images or pictures transmitted over the internet. Processes that substitute digital images for original paper records, or that move tabulation behind closed doors away from public scrutiny, do not meet the standard of trustworthiness and verifiability that Georgians deserve.

I call on the Secretary of State’s office and the State Election Board to ensure that all guidance and procedures for this election uphold Georgia law and prioritize the security and auditability of physical paper ballots. County election officials in the six CD13 counties should reject any directive that would compromise these fundamental safeguards.

Georgians have the right to elections they can trust.

Paper ballots, publicly counted by sworn officials with protected chain of custody, remain the gold standard for confidence in our results. The Georgia Republican Party will continue to advocate vigorously for these principles.

These are the same people who spent years acting like they were the last line of defense against darkness, and the second they get told no, they start leaking documents and whining about how the newsroom isn’t a “dictatorship.”

Fuck them. This isn’t some grand tragedy for journalism. It’s what happens when an entitled, ideological clique finally gets dragged out of their protected bubble and forced to deal with actual management.
