Congrats to Ryder Cain (4th place) and Jack Timmons (6th place) in the Shot Put at today’s Middle School State Championship Meet! Both recorded personal bests. Garfield was the only school with two on the podium in the event.

Four Portage County student-athletes waited hours for the bad weather to clear. All four made the podium in the seated 100 after the lengthy delay.

So was the wait worth it?

Garfield freshman Conner Hunt (3 gold medals) and Streetsboro junior Milena Sobie (2 gold, 2 bronze) put on two of the greatest performances I have ever seen at the state track and field meet.

And after several delays Conner Hunt shows his poise and determination by winning the 100m and was just .06 off of the state record!!! Conner pulled off the hat trick by winning all three of his races today! Spectacular job!!! @JAG_Athletics
