Concerns about the HPV vaccination campaign launched on 28th February 2026 have been raised by a citizen. The campaign raises serious concerns on scientific, operational, and public health priorities.

@DonthiNreddy points out that not a single state has published baseline cervical cancer incidence or HPV prevalence data. Without baselines,
outcomes cannot be measured, and without measurement, this Rs 1,300 crore annual expenditure cannot be evaluated.

India's 14-year-old girls present with high rates of anaemia and malnutrition. No nutritional or immunological screening is prescribed before vaccination. Vaccine efficacy and adverse effect profiles in nutritionally compromised adolescents are not addressed.
