No one listened to my advice on Friday....and now what? Where do we stand?
Still asking input from recreational dive "legends" who have no knowledge or experience in technical and cave diving.
I'm just hearing that a lot of political pressure was on the MNDF divers...its just unbelievable how these fucking politicians push everything. I sincerely hope we find who ordered them to risk their lives to recover bodies.
A historic and significant moment for the nation.
With former Presidents @MohamedNasheed, @prz_yameen and @ibusolih at their first joint meeting, where they came together to discuss the serious challenges facing the country, including the protection of constitutional governance, the rule of law and press freedom.
At a time when journalists are being jailed and fundamental freedoms are under threat, national interest must rise above political differences.
The message is clear: ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! The country must come first.
Those politicians who knowingly risked the lives of our brave soldiers showed no compassion or integrity. They were willing to put soldiers’ lives on the line to achieve political goals. They should be held accountable, but we all know how unlikely that is.
🚨 Leevan has requested medical care for the past five days and been denied. On Friday, he was transferred to Unit 10, where unsanitary conditions and pest infestations have reportedly worsened his pre-existing skin condition. He is being forced to sleep on the floor, and has been denied access to medical care.
Just did an interview with @BBCWorld , the interviewer said that the Maldives govt spoks @mundhu_maldives told them that CG Divers are using specialised equipment given by Italian govt for the search....which is a blatant lie.
Easha has recorded a 1 hour 23 minute video in which she details everything that happened, including all names, locations and the full details shared with her by Muizzu, along with many other specifics, to be released if anything happens to her. I stand with @EashaAshraf.
No Fiyaz, we’re ready to start fundraising.
1 million MVR within 24 hours so you can buy new equipment if you want.
Say the word. Just say the word.

THE MANDATE MYTH.
In 18 years of Maldivian democracy, four men have won the presidency. Three did so without convincing half the electorate.
Measured against eligible voters, not turnout:
Nasheed 2008: 46.5% (97,222 of 209,294)
Yameen 2013: 46.5% (111,203 of 239,165)
Solih 2018: 51.4% (134,705 of 262,135)
Muizzu 2023: 45.7% (129,159 of 282,804)
Only Solih cleared the majority line. He still lost re-election by 19,291 votes.
These are the four men positioning for 2028. Here is the audit.
NASHEED. Brought democracy. Then arrested a judge. Founded MDP from prison cells. Won UNEP, Anna Lindh, Time. Convened the underwater cabinet. Then ordered the military to detain Chief Judge Abdulla Mohamed in 2012 and lost the country in the protests that followed. Resigned under disputed circumstances. In 2023 he split MDP and helped sink Solih. In 2025 he dissolved The Democrats and crawled back. Now refuses to run himself, endorsing Fayyaz Ismail while pitching a hybrid system that would split executive power. The man who broke the constitution to discipline a judge wants to rewrite it again.
YAMEEN. Built the bridge. Broke everyone else. Sinamalé, Velana expansion, 7,000 Hiyaa flats across 16 towers. Real concrete legacy. Also jailed Nasheed, Qasim, Imran, Nazim, Faris Maumoon, and his own half-brother Maumoon. Declared a state of emergency in February 2018. Arrested the Chief Justice and a sitting Supreme Court judge. The MMPRC scandal stole over USD 90 million, with 281 named beneficiaries on the joint parliamentary committee’s list. Convicted twice. The 5-year sentence overturned by the Supreme Court in 2021. The 11-year sentence overturned by the High Court in April 2024. Retrial on hold. Founded PNF after breaking with Muizzu, the protégé he installed. Eligibility for 2028 still hangs on a Supreme Court ruling.
SOLIH. Restored democracy. Then handed it back. Free first-degree education. Aasandha expansion. GMCP bridge. World-class COVID rollout. Failed to recover MMPRC funds. Pardoned Adeeb and Ziyath four days before leaving office. Signed the Chagos letter the opposition called treason. Lost re-election. MDP collapsed from 65 seats to roughly 12 in 2024. Five candidates now fight for the 2028 ticket. The party that built the supermajority cannot pick a candidate.
MUIZZU. Promised India Out. Begged India in. Withdrew the 76 Indian soldiers on schedule. Then signed the USD 400 million currency swap, quietly extended Indian military equipment access in October 2024, and paid the swap back in cash on April 23 when the rollover was refused. Ras Malé pledged in eight months. 50% complete after 28 months. Generational tobacco ban: world first, genuine win. But sovereign debt at 110-122% of GDP. Junk credit rating from Fitch and Moody’s. Over USD 1 billion in debt service through 2026. Pre-selected without a primary. Tried to rewrite the voting system by referendum. Lost 69-31 in April. Press freedom restricted via the 2025 Media Bill. Lost his mentor Yameen. Lost VP Jameel, who now calls him “Kazzab.”
Four contenders. Each won a presidency without convincing a majority of eligible voters, except one. That one lost re-election. Each carries a record their supporters call achievement and their critics call betrayal.
The 2028 race is not a contest of mandates. It is a contest of whose betrayals voters can stomach least.
