Really liked Breen last year. Good in the air, passed very well, often jumped out of any stats-y analysis I ran looking for comparisons to the likes of Ashcroft and O’Reilly. Interesting to see how he steps up.
East Kilbride Football Club can confirm that defender, Rhys Breen has left the club to join NIFL Premiership side, Portadown.
We would like to place on record our thanks to Rhys for his service and wish him success for the future.
I finished my series of posts choosing three different Championship Teams of the Season, each with its own metric. Which of the three teams worked out best for you?
And it’s done. The final post in my series building three teams of the season, using three different lenses. There are limitations to this approach but I’ve found it fascinating nonetheless. In this post: forwards
There are three teams - one based on player impact, one on undervalued players, one on wildcard role-specific metrics. Two of the three are not regular number 9s, but the champ has veered away from them this season.
@StAnalysis He’s incredibly efficient really - takes very few shots to get his goals, and generally finds high quality chances. He lifts his shots more than most. Takes quite a lot of touches to find each tho - needs to get the balance between finding the prefect chance and a bit more volume
I had plans for how this series would work, but as it often transpires, the best laid plans of small rodents can be diverted down alternative routes (I think that’s how Rabbie put it).

Alongside two impact players and two undervalued midfielders, we get two who excelled at positional attacking contribution, offering threat in front of and behind the oppo defence. Six quite different midfielders pop out - battlers, creators, metronomes, second strikers.
