Happy Thanksgivning to you too.

Thats the thing. Some techers forget that studetns model every thing. The way you talk to collagues and what is seen in the classroom

[Amanda Pilgram @jaggirl2009]

Yes, but we are with children usually longer than parents are with them.

[Amanda Pilgram @jaggirl2009]

As an educator, we control what is done in the environment. Mood, attitude, and set up

[Amanda Pilgram @jaggirl2009]

You can not change a mindset of a person, but you can adapt their enviornment to get the result you want

[Amanda Pilgram @jaggirl2009]

Yes they can by their environment.

@eshaw50 I wouldn't be doing it for the pay. I have taken 3 pay cuts this year to keep my teaching position and am still fighting

[Amanda Pilgram @jaggirl2009]

OJT is sometimes the best way to learn about studetns and how a specific schools works.

[Amanda Pilgram @jaggirl2009]

Would love to. I got some things we can talk about to help other studetns at south out to be good teachers.

[Amanda Pilgram @jaggirl2009]

Then they were not cut out to be teachers. It is the heart of a teacher that makes them good.

[Amanda Pilgram @jaggirl2009]

I was told to forget that and that seeking my masters would not be worth the time at south. Look at me now!

[Amanda Pilgram @jaggirl2009]

But it is the studnet who chooses to do with thier own knowledge.

[Amanda Pilgram @jaggirl2009]

I dont thnk any teacher should be tenured. They might not be the best one for the job.

[Amanda Pilgram @jaggirl2009]

But at south we have teacher evaluations so we can voice our concerns as studetns. Not in public schools

[Amanda Pilgram @jaggirl2009]

Those are some teachers who lose thier focus of what they are doing in the classroom. Tenured teachers

[Amanda Pilgram @jaggirl2009]

Administrators some times get caught up in the glory of being in charge and their duties and forget what it was like being a principal

[Amanda Pilgram @jaggirl2009]

We have to think about the skills we are teaching the studetns and what we want them to do wiht them. this should outweight a test.

[Amanda Pilgram @jaggirl2009]

Testing should be looked at just as much as assessment. What works and what doesn't.

[Amanda Pilgram @jaggirl2009]

If we aren't going to teach, then we will just become glorified baby sitters. Not educators. Where did the education go?

[Amanda Pilgram @jaggirl2009]

@kkalinauskas We should.
