Meeting this Thursday!! The focus of the meeting is to give you a space to express your feelings about current events. We want to know how you’ve been doing, how current events make you feel, and any tips for coping with them. See you there!
Happy World Kindness Day! Our kindness challenge is to write a letter of gratitude to an essential worker who has personally impacted YOUR life. This can be a grocery store worker, doctor, mailman, pharmacist, waitress, etc. Bonus points if you hand deliver the letter to them :)
If it hadn’t won,
We would not be here
Because we cannot survive without each other
Empathy conquers all
Because it reminds us
That we are much more similar than we are different.”
“I believe empathy is the most important trait we have
In a world of division, empathy connects us
It is the bridge between our differences
I have hope that our empathy is stronger than our vices
I have hope that in the end, empathy will win
Because
It is easy to get lost in the present,
But remind yourself of our past
And you will realize how far we have come
I have hope that in the end, empathy will win
Because
It has won before
Again
And again
And again
Almost 30 students came to the interest meeting today; thank you all so much!! It was awesome getting to witness your passion for mental health and excitement to help others :) Our first club meeting is on October 29 at 3:15.
Yesterday’s Motivational Monday: “In the midst of winter, I found there was within me an invincible summer.” -Albert Camus
It’s hard to find motivation these days, but remember it’s right there inside you.
Welcome to the Twitter page for the NWHS branch of Our Minds Matter! This year we’ll be holding meetings through Zoom to reduce loneliness, amplify connection in the midst of difficult times, and provide a safe space for all students to learn more about themselves and others.
