🏛️ A 90-Year Cleanup, Done in One Stroke
After decades of outdated, overlapping, pre-independence labour laws, India has officially replaced 29 old acts with 4 modern Labour Codes — effective 21 November 2025.

Government calls it:

📜 THE FOUR LABOUR CODES — INDIA’S NEW WORK DNA

✔️ Code on Wages — Minimum wages for ALL workers in ALL sectors
✔️ Industrial Relations Code — Faster dispute resolution, modern employment norms
✔️ Social Security Code — PF, ESI, insurance for gig workers, contract workers, platform workers
✔️ Occupational Safety & Working Conditions Code — Highest-ever national safety standards

💥 WHAT CHANGES FOR WORKERS (IN ONE LINE EACH):

• Appointment letters mandatory for all
• Universal social security — gig, delivery, app workers finally INCLUDED
• Annual health check-up for workers above 40
• Timely wages = compulsory
• Women can work night shifts safely with protection
• Free medical care through nationwide ESIC network
• Minimum wage for everyone — no more “scheduled industry” loopholes
• One licence, one registration, one return → compliance slashed

🎯 SECTOR IMPACT — A REVOLUTION ACROSS INDIA’S WORKFORCE

👷 Contract & Factory Workers → PF + insurance + medical + safety committees
🚚 Gig / Delivery / Platform Workers → Welfare fund from Zomato, Swiggy, Uber etc.
🧑‍💼 IT / ITES → Salary by 7th of every month mandatory
🏭 MSME → Reduced burden + social security
⛏️ Mines / Hazardous Work → Strict national safety standards
🌾 Traditional Beedi / Plantation → Higher wages & medical coverage

💰 WHY THIS MATTERS:
India’s social security net has jumped from 19% (2015) to 64% (2025).
Now, with the Labour Codes →
Coverage expected to exceed 80% — the highest in India’s history.
