Some scholars argue that all known as Muslim law in India is amalgam of inaccurate translations and borrowing from customs, not Shariah in entirety. Not being sacred it can be altered. But then let us uncover pristine Shariah and Fiqha and then reform

Art 25 gives citizen right to religion. UCC cannot violate that. We need to consider what reform in Personal Law consistent with Art 25 are needed and feasible. Must be done with empathy, not hostility to the ‘other’.

In response to UCC we must all examine our respective religions and rid them of distortions. Let not proponents seek to obliterate what is not ours and claim success.
