An appeal to Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and the Government of India

India did not ban “games.”
It banned an entire legal industry.
Under the Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Act, 2025, every online contest where a user stakes money expecting a cash prize is now an “online money game” — skill or chance does not matter. Paid fantasy cricket, rummy and poker on Indian platforms were shut overnight. Rules took full effect from 1 May 2026

The intent of the government is not in dispute. Addiction, debt, family distress and youth harm are real. Protecting citizens is the first duty of the State.
But a blanket ban is not the same as protection. It has hit workers, creators, tax collections and Indian companies — while pushing demand toward illegal offshore betting apps that pay no tax, follow no KYC and answer to no Indian court.

57वीं GST काउंसिल बैठक 12 सितंबर से खिसककर अब 7 अक्टूबर हो गई — यानी करीब एक महीने की देरी। वजह बताई जा रही है BRICS समिट (12-13 सितंबर), जिसकी तारीख महीनों पहले से तय थी।
सवाल यह है: जब समिट की तारीख पहले से मालूम थी, तो GST काउंसिल की बैठक उसी हफ्ते में क्यों रखी ग��? पिछली बैठक (56वीं) सितंबर 2025 में हुई थी — यानी काउंसिल पहले ही एक साल से ज़्यादा के गैप के बाद मिल रही थी। ITC, रिफंड, रजिस्ट्रेशन जैसे अहम मुद्दे अब और एक महीना टल गए।
व्यापारी और टैक्सपेयर पहले से इंतज़ार कर रहे थे — अब उन्हें और इंतज़ार करना होगा।
क्या यह सिर्फ प्रशासनिक चूक है, या प्राथमिकताओं का सवाल?

Regulate RMG, don't ban it.

Banning legitimate fantasy sports platforms will only push users toward illegal betting apps and underground markets.

Bans fuel black markets. Regulation strengthens systems.

India needs clarity, not chaos.

A clear regulatory framework can protect users and young people, ensure KYC, GST, and TDS compliance, prevent revenue loss, and support honest Indian businesses.

Bans create disorder. Regulation creates accountability.

The country needs clarity, not confusion. ⚖️

FIR is an allegation. Not a conviction. And the Supreme Court has repeatedly said it clearly … the power to arrest is NOT the necessity to arrest.

In Arnesh Kumar case , the Court said police must ask three basic questions …

Why arrest?
Is it necessary?
What purpose will it serve?

So the same logic applies here…
The alleged “evidence” is a social media video. It is already public. So why the 2:35 AM arrest?

Was he going to delete a video that thousands had already seen? Destroy evidence sitting on the internet? Flee the country?

Or was arrest simply the easiest thing to do once the FIR was filed? Or was it an ego satisfying exercise of power?

Article 21 matters. Personal liberty is not a favour the State grants … it is a constitutional right.

Article 22 matters too. It exists precisely to protect citizens from arbitrary arrest and detention.

But who cares about Article 21 and Article 22 when politicians allegedly weaponise the police to silence critics, settle political scores and satisfy their egos?

The very politicians who claim to be the “saviours of the Constitution” are accused of using the machinery of the State against those who question them.
