@CraigMah This is fantastic! Is your district doing a livestream for students to watch in class? (Fri Jan 13) or on the BED Sun Jan 15 (to watch from home)?
💡 My takeaway from @brightmorningtm's session today is nothing is personal, permanent or perfect. I also think stopping, pausing & honouring everyone's time/opinions is a must to have wider perspective.
Reflecting on ourselves can feel like a luxury but self-knowledge is at the root of adaptive facilitation. We have greater awareness about why something feels easy/challenging, what we're best at, who we are, & how we show up. @brightmorningtm Pause, take a breath, notice & name.
Promised teacher librarians at @bctla I’d post this land acknowledgment students wrote on their own. I forgot which school, so if these are your students please reply and remind me! But this is so thoughtful and meaningful.
Summer Institute 2022
I loved that workshops all followed a theme - welcoming, inclusivity and belonging for all of us. What words do Ss see when they arrive each day and how do they feel... #sd36learn
#STAConvention2022#sd36learn So Powerful and Meaningful! Thank you Shauneen Pete for sharing your knowledge. I see/I am activity is now in my planning for next week. Grade 5s do their own land acknowledgments and this is a great extension to go deeper.
Students must feel safe and connected in order to be ready to learn. Show this explainer video to your extended school community to highlight why trauma-informed practices can be so powerful.
