Mi valoración sobre Sergio Canales:

-Es el mejor jugador que ha tenido Rayados en los últimos 5 años? Si

-Durante 4 torneos fue el mejor jugador de Rayados y top 3 de la Liga MX? Si

-Si Rayados pudo competir en una final por un título de Liga MX fue porque Canales se echó al equipo al hombro? Si

-Apareció en liguillas, clásicos y finales? Si

-Se equivocó en lo de la puerta? Si

-Bajó de nivel en su último torneo? Si

-Ya aparentemente tiró la toalla? Si

-Se acabó el ciclo? Si

-Su poco recorrido defensivo ya empieza a afectar al equipo? Si

-Puede ser ídolo para alguien un jugador que no ganó nada? Si, como en el América tienen a Cabañas, en Cruz Azul al Chelito o en Tigres a Gaitán. Y sobretodo para los niños.

-Está al nivel de históricos como Guille y Suazo? Obviamente no

Y creo que todo puede convivir perfectamente sin que una idea quite a la otra, sin irme a los extremos.

Como cualquier jugador figura tiene claroscuros.

Para mí, Canales definitivamente fue el mejor jugador de esta época oscura del equipo y de los jugadores que más he disfrutado ver jugar. No es el Guille o Suazo obviamente, pero tampoco no me gusta reducirlo todo a títulos colectivos porque ahí ya influyen muchas cosas que están fuera del control del jugador. Creo que Canales individualmente dejó los suficientes momentos memorables como para que la afición lo recuerde con cariño.
