On the occasion of Mahavir Jayanti, I spoke during the Zero Hour in the Rajya Sabha, today. In these trying times of war and global uncertainty, I said Lord Mahavir’s teachings of non-violence and ‘anekantavad’ (non-one-sidedness or many sidedness) had very special meaning. I also emphasised his teachings of environmental balance, which is urgently needed to save earth from further degradation. I thank @VPIndia for giving me the opportunity to speak, and also wish fellow Indians on the occasion of #MahavirJayanti. @PMOIndia #IranWar‌ #WestAsia #MiddleEast
