BJP called it ₹1 lakh crore of investment. The investors were flour mills and fertiliser shops 🤯

Here is what happened in Uttarakhand.

BJP's Dhami government held a Global Investors Summit and made a lot of noise. 1,779 MoUs. ₹3.56 lakh crore. Around ₹100 crore of public money was spent on roadshows.
Then the government said ₹1 lakh crore of this has "landed on the ground".

Newslaundry checked who these investors really are. According to its investigation:
- Atta chakkis, fertiliser and seed shops and small clinics were counted as "investors". Some did not even know.
- ₹35,279 crore, which is 35%, belongs to government power companies.
- A school running on CSR and donations was shown as a ₹24.49 crore "investor".
- A ₹1,200 crore "investor" has zero income for four years, and not one employee on record.
- Dubai and London roadshows were said to bring ₹27,975 crore, but not one company from these two cities is in the list of investors "on the ground".
- And just seven days before the summit, on 1 December 2023, the definition of "investment" itself was relaxed.

First change the rules, then show the numbers.

This is the "double engine" model. One engine in Delhi, one in the state, and the show is the same: big headlines, small truth.

Bro, imagine your neighbour tells everyone "my son has got a ₹1 crore job". Then you find out the "company" is a tea stall, and the "salary" is the tea stall owner's own savings.
Would you call that success? Or fraud?

Now think of a young man in Uttarakhand. He believed in the "lakhs of jobs" and prepared for years. And what did he get? Papers leaked, and no jobs.

Why was the definition of investment changed seven days before the summit? Who gains from this game of numbers?

In Bengal, 5,38,320 voters were auto-deleted through ECI software. Only 7,733 Form 7 deletions had an actual complainant.

Worse, the Form 10 registers record no reason at all for these 5.38 lakh deletions. The reason column is simply blank.
